@Looper It will say Error for two reasons: 1. The horse already has a copy of the gene on that allele 2. There was nothing from the dam/sire on that allele to add

I don't breed yellow papers unfortunately and I already guessed wrong once. Don't want to put more into her that I was going to put into my other projects (and barely am able to afford as is now).

Do we need to spend any HBs to figure this out? I can't afford to just try putting genes on, nor do I have enough GMTs to try most of the more expensive genes.

Meh... None of the examples of the limited genes in the FAQ give me any hints and I can not afford GMTs. Is it one not written down there?
I guess I just bookmark all horses in this thread and see what happens when bred to another GoCP-horse/pony

@Sheepsherrip I think it is one of the genes that doesn't show up on gene testing, and only shows up when it is homozygous, so none of the horses here would show it until they are bred or gene moded?

I would love to breed my CP cob mare to a CP pony stallion in January when she ages up to see if I can figure this out. I don't have any way to play with the genes. Or someone could tell me. :) Either way works for me.

@Sheepsherrip @RiverMeadows there are also some genes that will only show up on certain patterns and colors of horses. Combinations of DP/Sty for example make a chestnut horse liver. :) That is why, if I buy a horse(s) with unknown history, I will pair a stud and a mare with certain combinations based on what I'm hoping they carry. The foals will have a better chance of hitting the mark to show if they have something interesting.

I remember when the same gene first came out, and it was on I think 10 or 20 random creates, and we not only had to try and figure out what the gene was but what horses had it lol!!

The answer has been made public on the other server someone worked it out and posted a foal that was hom for a hidden gene (was in the breeders club) the answer is in the name

My best guess based on the clues given in this thread and by looking at ATO's example horses is het Gulastra Plume. I tried to register mine in the breeder's club but it wasn't eligible so mine is not hom. I don't know when GP was introduced to the game but I assume it was a "past" Christmas like 2017 (before I joined so I truly don't know).
