All horses will be homozygous (ZZ) for the silver gene. Red based horses will carry the gene, but not show it. Possible colors include silver black, silver bay, silver brown, silver buckskin etc. Horses might be patterned or solid.

Got this girl. I've got mixed feelings. Only one allele of roan, which is nice, and heterozygous black which means she could throw chestnut if I wanted to, but she didn't score very well. :P
She looks cool, if anything.

You're right, she doesn't look too silvery- but I think she looks sweet :)

Just curious, why would you want chestnut out of a silver?

I think she's pretty, although I'd be tempted to reroll her to see if she'd get darker... I really like the dark roans a lot better.

I'm trying to get a line of DP into a line of silver browns. :P So if I can get a line of silver carrying liver chestnuts, so much the better.

I like the darker roans in general too, but I like how she is. :)
