So I'm definitely aging myself here. But I have questions if anyone can remember.

What happened to picking an island when signing up and then the horses were of that nationality? How long has this been gone?

Also did the 3 islands become 3 separate servers or did they essentially become "hunt and jump, hunt and jump 2 and hunt and jump 3"?

I played for a long time back in 2013ish on an account that is not longer active. Then took a fairly long break until April of 2024. I LOVE the "bluegrass, mesa and forest" concepts for the servers, and honestly most of the other changes that I can remember. :)

When I joined in '18 we were 1 and 2, but the art work and naming had already started switching to bluegrass and forest. When mesa got added we found out Ammit has an operations server called orchid.

All the things were nationals though, unless you got basic and named your own. The body styles are a recent addition and I love it.

I joined in 2011, a fair while before Forest. There was stock horse game (Shoco??), which I never got into, and Hunt and Jump, but I don't personally remember the islands. You would have been around a fair while before me though I'd reckon

The islands I'm pretty sure were Nauru, Maldives adn Tonga. They became your breed. You picked the island when you signed up. I'm pretty sure unless it was a fever dream.

Although I thought the stock horse game WAS a fever dream. So I see that it was also real.

There were 2 versions of the stock horse game. It started out as Shoco (Stock Horse Corp -not sure about the Co part) then it became Western Horse Game. I started playing a few months after Shoco started. I was, and still am, a huge fan of the old WHG!

I agree with you Cottonwoods. I think is was Nauru, Maldives and Tonga, but they weren't breed names, you were Nauru National, Maldives National, or Toga National. All the breed names were National, I think. I don't know what the original purpose of having new players pick one was, and I seem to recall someone telling me it didn't make any difference in how you played.

I’m not sure what year I first joined, but I know it was early on! A forum friend from another game and I both came over. (I don’t know what happened to Dreami, we lost touch.)

I *think* the islands had different shows. And that premium members could maybe enter shows on any island? I might be fever dreaming that part of it. But the islands were definitely part of it.

And there was a lot of custom art going on. I had a really cool one done for a horse I had named “banana boat”

I remember ShoCo! I think I made an account but liked HaJ better so I stuck with that.

I think people may be confusing things with Horse Isle which had islands.

We had nations you could join and the only thing it did was set your default breed name. We dropped that early on and then just had national breeds. These days everyone starts with there own breed.
