Tack for "marking" horses?
-
Does anyone else use tack for just their studs or mares for organization? I do if so I would you share, as its fun to see what others do!
Here is mine for my studs

I used to mark my altered show ponies with halters and braided tails, buuuuut then I started getting too many in a season and now I have way too many to even start doing that again. I also liked to change my studs manes to the mohawk style and backgrounds to the dark jewel tones. I have a lot of studs that I'm just testing out now, so I don't want to officially code them, y'know? But this does remind me about it, so I might go ahead... :P

Show ponies have braids, some braided tails some not. Breeders pulled manes and long straight tails.

I use the rose backgrounds for mares, and halters in colors corresponding to their paper level (or expected level) for broodmares and tack for those being shown. I.e. red papered mares have red rose backgrounds and red halters, fillies have red rose backgrounds and red themes tack.
Stallions are fully tacked up but currently no theme to colors, etc. I may change their colors to correspond with the appropriate level in mares.
Edit to add examples:red papered mares/fillies being shown
Yellow, etc follow the theme but in corresponding colors. Gold mares are white/silver colored.red papered broodmares (kept in pasture)
Yellow, etc follow the theme but in corresponding colors. Gold mares are white/silver colored.stallions and colts all levels
I may change the way I do the boys, but for now this is it.
And yearlings follow the same theme as broodmares but with a black halter for colts.#28036 -
