If you breed one of your horses with a different breed of horse than what your own stable has, can you produce that breed?
If you don’t have Arabians as one of those three you had to select in the beginning, can you still get an Arabian from breeding with one you bought?

There's 2 potential answers to this, and we'd need to see the horse in question to answer accurately :) But I'll lay out the 2 scenarios.

The Light Boned National Breed Characteristic (BC) is available to everyone in the game, and therefore inheritable. It just depends on the bone weight of the foal.

The Polish Arabian is a Breed Characteristic (BC) that costs real money to purchase via Golden Tokens (GTs). (Or you can get someone else to buy them for you in exchange for hbs.) BCs that cost money to purchase are not inheritable, unless you already own that BC.

In both scenarios, it depends on what Breed Characteristic you have set for your foals. Foals will generally default to what you have set, but you can change them to other BCs you own in their control panel.

Awww :( It sounds like I'm stuck with the breeds I choose then. I don't like how they look, argh. I was hoping I could at least breed them out.

I just had a thought. What if you bought 2 Arabians. Would the foal then be Arabian?

The thing to keep in mind is Breed Characteristics, bone weight, and breeds are all different.

Bone weight can be changed through breeding.

Breed characteristics can only be changed by acquiring BCs and changing them in your breeds or control panels.

Breeds can only be changed on horses you've bred yourself.

If we're talking bone weight, then breeding a draft and a riding horse and you'll get a warmblood, breed a warmblood with a riding horse, you'll get lighter boned still, breed a riding horse with a riding horse and you'll get a riding horse, etc. :)

The national BCs are not available to every player any more. Each player gets three starting BCs and they are stuck with the ones they pick.

To get different BCs they either have to be purchased or a new account created.

Oh, interesting! Will existing players get to pick 3 as well, or do we default to the Nationals?

Since everyone already had and was using the nationals that is what older accounts defaulted too.

So new accounts get BCs but old accounts are stuck with the old art? That hardly seems fair.

Oh that's interesting, I missed this update, I was confused why it said I only have one BC. I like that we can just pick a default for each bone weight now, rather than default being national and we add in BCs as we choose. Pity we don't get to pick defaults as already having National, but I'd keep it for Cob anyway. I might buy a light one though to have as default maybe... :-?
