I have several satins that I cannot tell are satin for sure unless I look at genotype. I'd prefer that the gene stands out, and loved the original satin. I also have some that are "super satin" but I'm fine with that. :D

I can find more "barely satin" if you want, just lmk.

Oh no, I too was going to post the ones that looks like this. But if this is how they are supposed to be, it makes me kinda sad. I have been centering my lines around satin for over a decade, and this is just something -very- different.

On a different note, I cant get any images that havent been viewed since they last generated, to show. I just get the "request recieved, but javascript..." message, and no picture shows, even after waiting 10+ minutes.

Looks like it's mostly the blacks I am not liking, tbf. The others are looking really good :)

Nah, that one was just pretty, sorry for being all confusing. However, to me, that one is not even in the same ballpark as the blacks. Maybe its a screen issue, because they cant even be compared the way I am seeing them. I hardly see anything at all on the blacks (like, I will not be able to see if a black horse has satin at all without checking the genetics), but the bay I posted is absolutely gorgeous :-?

Lol the horse you said looked green is the old satin! :D The green nonsense why it got replaced.

And you think these are not shiny enough? Just making sure as I don't think you have said what you don't like about them.

I wish they were obviously satin. Perhaps not as shiny as the "super satin" (which seems to only happen on chestnut based horses(?)) but shiny-er than they are currently. I'll find some bay "barely satin" for you today.

Oops, I forgot to hit post on this comment. It's in regard to your answer to me over.

Yeah, I can't see the satin on them at all. I tried to put them next to a horse without satin, and I found that I can see a lighter patch under the mane on the ones with satin, but that is literally the only difference I can see.

I'm not saying they don't look a little different, but I don't think the satin is shinier than I'd expect a non-satin to be. That said, they are very hard to 100% know are satin unless I look at genotype, without a side by side pic I wouldn't think the actual satin was for sure satin. I loved being able to glance at the thumbnails and know they were satin.

I understand the "super satin" isn't ideal, I'm not suggesting you keep it that way, either. Surely there's a happy medium between super satin and barely satin. The old satin had a red cast in the middle of the horse that really made it obvious they were satin without the greasy look of the super satin.

In the end, though I love the old very obvious satin, I'm fine with whatever.

I prefer more shiny to less shiny. Might be a bug, but I've gotten some foals this year who don't have the satin gene but are shiny like the less-shiny satin. Maybe it'll go away when they age up.
