How many Breeds?
-
So I've been wondering how many breeds do people have? How do you use breeds? Is each project/line a different breed? Do you have just one or two? I'm curious.#28036

I have 5 in addition to my default, actively using 2 of those.
The active ones are both tribute lines - one for my parents (the Doubleskunk drafts), and one for my wiener dog (Ingwerbrot ponies and minis).
Two of them were specific projects that I've since given up (Appaloosa, Backwards), and the last hasn't been assigned yet since I created it by accident.Folly's Fantasies #43484 (she/her): Horses, straws, and eggs from my Doubleskunk tribute herd are always free. -
I will use them for different projects. I do wish I could adjust breed rules more easily and didn't have to wait for them to all die off first.

I have 7 breeds, not including default. Each one is it's own separate line with different goals. The newest one I just started and haven't fleshed out what I want it to be yet, except that I want all minis.#28036

I have 11 active breeds/11 active lines. I use them for different projects. I'm partial to IRL breeds so I've recreated some here.| #59142 | Spotted | Reiner | Chocolatey | Enchanting | Stygien | Lunara |

I have one additional breed, but that's just because I love 2 heavyweight BCs, so my cobs have their own group. I'm thinking about separating off another line for my backwards gang, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.45120

I have 6 right now. I use them to organize different lines (though I just started using them more a couple months ago, so there's a lot still under my default).
For my Era projects (outside of Era 15 and 16 which is DontWorryBeAppy) I'm thinking I'll do tattoos instead of separate breeds, and put them all under my default (Poppidoll).
Edit started 1 more for another E16 project, so I'm at 7 now.

I make stable headers: here.
Mimicry: minis and ponies, open and closed, eras | Evergreen: All the ices | Phantasia: fantasy kitchen sink

I currently have 9 breeds with plans for another! I like sorting my different lines and projects into them.
I have 3 generic breeds I use to classify the different body weights (I assign these to ones not part of specific breeds or older lines that are very jumbled anyway). Then I have ones for era projects, and ones for gene projects.
For example, I have a breed for my era 15 line. Horses that are era 15 but don't belong to that project I swap out of that breed if they ended up there.
My homebred bootstrap herd is its own breed so I can keep track of my in-house line.
I'm going to start up a new ice breed that is just any ice + fantasy genes I feel like throwing together. I have some eggs from old mares I never really used for anything, so this project is in part so their eggs don't just rot in my freezer. I collected them, I'd like to use them!ID# 25784 -
I have 5. Whenever a new bc comes out, I get it. So need more breeds to accommodate them :)

I have three that are active and in use. My primary is Synergy, my snowflakes are Snowflake Synergies, and my fantasies are Deadlot. I have an inactive one salad Satanspawn, which will probably get revived now that we have minis and they have more showing opportunities.
