Won an auction, but the horse went to someone else's barn
-
Horse ID 12312431.
Hb's left my account in transactions, I got the notification that I won the auction, but the horse went to someone else's barn. Please help me out here, this is a new one on me.
Thanks! -
It looks like it happened with 12313192 as well, though none of my bids were affected.
The finished auction log is showing two people bid the same amount for the same horse in both cases.
Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide! -
It's easier if you link the horse. I can help with this on Monday. (about to step out the door and will be out of town this weekend)

Thank you! I hope your move went as smoothly as possible!
Also, I apologize for not linking the horses in question, I'd forgotten that was even a thing as I'm just returning to the game after a long time away. Thank you for the reminder. -
I have the same problem with this one. When you get a chance no rush thank you Ammit! Have a wonderful weekend!

I saw yours when I was looking at mine, @ValkyriePhoenix . It's already on her radar!

Lol yea I just thought to make it easier if list her on here lol I thought I won 3 but it said only the two on my home page and then this little lady shipped to the wrong barn lolID 53752 Breeding ponies of all sizes and lots of pretty colors!

I saw that, when I was looking at the recently finished auction logs, so I added it to here. I wasn't sure how many bids you had out, or if you'd see you were missing one right away.
I just wish I'd remembered how to link the horse before the post, lol.
Thanks Ammit, for your future attention to this! -

Hello, I'm the person that won the auctions in question. This happened twice on my Swancy account and once on this account. I'm posting from this account because I can't always access my other account due to the website not loading specifically for that account.
In the recent bid logs shown in the catalogue shortly after the auction ends, it showed that even though the bids were the same amount, mine was entered first. The last bidder was you but the last highest bidder was me. The system probably looks at the last bidder when it charges people so I'm guessing that's why you were charged and it shows in sales records the horse was sold to you first. The system probably computed after that that the last bid wasn't actually the last highest bid and sent the horse to the person whose bid was entered first and was therefore technically the last highest bidder and winner. I'm sorry you were charged for a horse you didn't win but to me this seems the most reasonable explanation for what happened from what I saw. I don't know why the system didn't present the please submit a valid bid message and accepted your bid anyways when mine had already processed. If I knew the system would charge you and this would be a problem I would've taken screenshots of the recent bids entered. Unfortunately that disappears shortly after the auctions end but they did show that my bid was entered first and your bid was entered second. Hopefully the system keeps records of which order the bids were entered, but that was what I saw so I think that's why the horses were correctly sent to me.
This is just what I presume happened though and we'll have to wait for Ammit to clarify what she finds did happen when she has time. Thank you Ammit for whenever you have any time to spare for this. I hope you're settling in well and things calm down for you soon.Thanked by 1Ammit -
It's actually the other way around. You were the later bidder not them. I will need to look closely at the code to understand where the specific breakdown is. I am not sure they correctly went to you.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. ok I did some testing and the horse should go to the first person listed on the records. There is a system in place to prevent two bids of the same amount being placed but bids must be coming in so fast that the system is getting overwhelmed. I will move these horses and hbs around to the rightful owners. I am not sure on a fix for the issue though as it is not really a bug so much as a pure hardware limitation.

Ok horses have all been moved where they belong and the double payments refunded. I will work on some prevention to keep this from happening.
Probably a clean-up pass to delete double bids when they happen and an anti-spam limit so people can only bid once every 10 seconds.Need to contact me? Read this first. It will now ignore the second bid if there are two identical high bids on a horse.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
