So, last year, I got a little black kitten. I loved him to the moon and back, and then some. He was born on or around March 17th (St. Patrick's Day). Unfortunately, he came down very sick, very suddenly, December 28th, and passed away that night. The details of that event are extremely traumatic for me and my girlfriend. (The things we saw ejecting out of that poor kitty's nose/lungs made everything horrible). I sat on the floor crying, knowing there was nothing I could do for him, but wanted to do everything). Unfortunately, the vet we took him to that morning was super unhelpful, only did X-rays, gave us antibiotics, and sent us on our way telling us that we had a fair outlook, as long as we gave the meds. We go back the next day, and she's telling us that his death was our fault for not getting him the proper care, and then laughing at us when we said we assumed he had a fair chance. That entire two days was beyond stressful, traumatic, everything. I cried for days. All the while, my mom is asking why the Frick I'm crying, because "it's just a cat".
I decided after that point that I really didn't want another cat/kitten. I already have a 9 year old tabby and a 4 year old Sphinx. But I did miss having a kitten. Neither of my cats really play much. I also figured my dad wouldn't okay me getting another kitten, even though I'm an adult, because I do live with him. But he messaged me today saying his coworker has kittens and that I could have one. Even better, I was just telling my girlfriend that I eventually wanted a orange/cream kitty. So! In 5 weeks, I'll be able to bring this little cutie home! I need name ideas, though! I don't know the gender, yet, so gender neutral names would be best.
