April first I am planning to make some era 6 perfectly awful horses and start a project to try and get them to B/Red papers, no boosting.

I'll probably do a second set with boosting and see how fast I can get them to cap.

No prizes or anything, but just a friendly post each month to share how it is going. Maybe a chat room.

Does anyone want to join in?

Question. Does a very inconsistent mare or stud at a star or gold paper benefit a line like this? Even if they aren't in the negative for performance?

Well no because the whole point is to start with perfectly awful foundations and breed up.

Are you asking how many you should have for the project?

There are multiple ways to go about it and the answer might be anywhere form 2 to 200 depending on what management methods you plan to use.

Yes, that was my curiosity. I suppose with more foundation stock you have better odds of getting there quicker.

I'd love to. I have enough expensive projects on at the moment though so won't be maxing/boosting. Pasture work only.

On a side note, perfectly awful × perfectly awful with full pasture bonus. Would the best ones pass ba/sba or would they all fail because of the low papers?

I have no idea! Part of the reason I am doing this is to get more familiar with the low end of the breeding spectrum. I don't think breeding advice would alter them since it is based on parent ability not raw ability.

Does anyone doing this want my perfectly awful creates? Just for create price - I won't use them but this project sounds like a fun one for those participating! If anyone wants them just tell me specs and I'll post them for you.

Ooh this will be fun! I think I'll start with a small herd of ten mares and a stallion and start breeding in May so the girls get full pasture bonus. No maxing, nothing, just breeding best to best etc. I'm curious to see how fast we can get it done, can't wait!

I did create 4 mares and a stallion. It sounds like a fun project but I'll not be participating. I'm happy to sell them at cost to anyone. They be for sale in my barn id 58767.

I must say, I was not expecting that level of cuteness when creating them.
