I'm thinking of making my own breed but I've gotta decide on a name and history yet but I'm just wondering where y'all took inspiration from when creating yours?

I took inspiration from my writing! The fantasy world in my book has a location called Kanskownpqey, so I took the first part of that and called my horse breed Kanskie.

Holy crap, you write and have a fantasy world? Thats crazy good and thats really cool that you took inspiration from your writing :)

I was gonna do the same but didn't know if it'd be weird or not and i think my hypothetical breed name might be a bit ambitious and sounds more like licensed genes to me..which i do not have haha

Thanks! And yeah, you can always come up with three or four names and pick the best one, that might help :)

My three breeds are themed, which is less cool than Lallyhop’s haha.
My main breed is Necromantic, a reference to my favorite book series. My second is Whovian, as in doctor who, which is the theme of that line, and the third (and newest) is based on my own culture and is called Voskeguyn which means golden. :)

I've seen your Necromantic breeds everywhere and just recently bought a few more from ur bday bash bc :)

But still, it might take me awhile to even try and get lines going once i make my breed when i don't even know where to start cuz my stables are all over the place lmao. Too many pretty colours, and not enough thought processing haha

My Gaerlasian breed is because I am a huge Lord of the rings fan, Gaerlas means Redleaf in Sindarin elvish.

@GrungeBunny02 I didn’t realize how widespread my Necromantic ponies were :)) that’s so cool! My other two are just in the beginning phases, so I’m working on bringing them up. Making breeds is so fun and I’m really liking it lately

My Nightingales are my Undiscovered line as I was super into Star Trek at the start and my first boy had a mark on his face that resembled the insignia. The mark has become the tattoo for the line.

Another ongoing organization fight is my Bavarians. They're to be the highest gen I can organize in each of 4 Rank Specials (Cherry Drop, Freaky Friday, Dark Chocolate, and King's Ransom) bred together in a flat 25% each. The combination reminds me of a rich dessert. :D

My first breed, Ketawa, is named after one of my favorite breeds of chickens. The ayam ketawa, or laughing chicken, is in my top 3 favorites out of hundreds of breeds of chickens. :-)) Since my first was named after chickens, I decided to name the others in the same fashion. Not my favorite breeds, but breeds from the same country as the ketawa.

I used to play Flight Rising and I had been trying to come up with a beautiful, unique name for one of my dragons. I ended up choosing the name Artylia, and I just brought it over here when I started this game, hence my default breed "Artylian".

Some of my other breed names are also made up from my own writings. :) My cobs are Fennens, my warmblood/sport ponies are Nohko, and my riding horses/ponies are Karauta. I've started a new line that's going to be mixed fantasy with the infernal characteristic and I've decided to call them Rhokines (roh-kin-ees). I basically took the opportunity to have fun making up names!

@GrungeBunny02 Thanks! I love chickens. I actually work at a chicken hatchery. I work with chickens and come home to my own chickens. Lol

Oh I forgot my default breed, and my player name, are named after my first horse, NL Haltanny. He was my heart horse and literally saved my life.

My breed the Caddoian comes from the Caddo tribe of Indians that my husband spent time with. My 13 year old gelding who I have raised from birth is named Caddo.

How do you get more breeds?

@BestFriend well there's only 3 main "breeds" when you start, 6 if you count the ponies. You choose between those said 6 breeds every time you create a horse or pony. However, you can unlock other breeds...I just haven't unlocked any cuz I'm not entirely sure how to either but i purchased a couple different breeds :)

There is a difference between breeds and breed characteristics (BCs).

BCs you can purchase, which changes the art of your horses. Breeds can be created by any player with a basic or better upgrade, via the member homepage under "Manage Your Breeds."
