Era10 2nd Gen Chimera Futurity Prospect/Straw Swap
  • I would love to get this handsome guy on the leaderboard for Stallion Futurity. I have a handful of available mares left this season, but I will have a lot more available next year if you want to do a straw swap. Straws: 500hb Live Cover: 1hb

I breed for Spotted Drafts that could actually be registered in real life. I like them to be Black, Creamy Black, Gray Black, or Grullo and the horse has to have at least a 2inch square patch of white above the knees/hocks and not on the head. I am hoping to get some really unique color combinations. ID# 50732
  • I don't have any mares available this season but what a lovely stud! If you're offering him again next season I'd be interested in swapping some straws!

  • @4laska. Thank you! I'm very proud of him. I actually took a several month break from the game and logged back in to find him. I can't wait to start breeding him myself next month. I imagine that I will keep him available publicly for awhile. I always keep my fingers crossed that one of my 2nd Gen Chimeras will throw a 3rd Gen Chimera but it hasn't happened yet.

  • I am hoping to get a 3rd gen eventually too, I have had a couple really lovely 2nd gens colts recently so crossing my fingers! I also breed drafts and love tobiano, so I will keep my eye out for your stud next season!

  • Very nice. I'd like one in a warmblood size please :-D
  • Hey @OldCat and welcome to the game! Unfortunately that’s not quite how that works, the straws they’re offering from that boy are from him only, it’s not a “model” of a type of horse with multiple sizes, just the genes from exactly that horse as he stands, as if it were a real horse.

However, if you particularly like his genes and want something similar, making a post on the forum to see if anyone has a similar warmblood they’d be willing to share straws/breedings from is a good idea!

  • @OldCat sorry I can't customize his size for you. However if you want some straws to breed to lighter boned mares you could possibly get a warmblood foal. I do that sometimes on my Warmblood account when I find a draft or riding horse that I really like. A little careful study of bone weight and sometimes a GMT token and I get the warmblood I want.

  • Lallyhop and Drafts26 I was being silly when I asked for the custom size. He is drool worthy! I shall have to look into this "A little careful study of bone weight and sometimes a GMT token and I get the warmblood I want."

I am still trying to wrap my head around how to make the babies I want ...I think it might take a while!
  • Haha, gotcha! Yeah, so since horses can have offspring with a range of traits based on the parents, and bone weight is just on a range of numbers, you can, for example, breed a draft to a riding horse and get a warmblood foal! As for GMT tokens, those can be pretty pricy, but one of those can change the bone weight of a horse to anything within the allowable range of the parents. It can't turn a foal of two drafts into a riding horse, but it can balance out the foal of a draft and riding horse to make sure it falls within warmblood range. :)
