This gene came at the perfect time! I am beyond excited for this guy! Now the big question: To breed next season as he is or to try to save up 10 GMT's to make him homozygous GP as well? It'll be harder this time around to save up that many GMT's with just game money but I think I just might try it :D

I got my marvelous baby! I'm going to create a strict line with him. I bought him as a PF from the Foundation rescue, as I didn't have any stallions I wanted the Macchiato gene on. His offspring will all be named around coffee, at least the ones with the SpM gene (so G3 onwards may change). Now to get a basic upgrade, so I may share him!

Interesting! The black liver seemed to lighten up to more of the original liver. I wonder if straight blacks lighten up similar to smokey blacks!

Waldgraf, there's a black on the thread on the Facebook discussion group. The black does definitely lighten up, somewhere between black and Grullo. It's gorgeous I think, but I have a serious thing for blue eyed black splash!

Thanks for point it out - I went over and took a look. Love how it looks! Looking through my stock now to see how might be candidates. Unfortunately, many of mine have WF of none and I'm not sure the trait will show well with that.

This sweet, sweet girl now has Macchiato! It isn't as obvious on her as the others, but I can't wait to see her foals next season! :D :x
Edit: I rerolled her a couple of times. I'm pretty happy with how she looks now :)
