Foal bred by me, but showing breed and tattoo of owner of stud?
-
I bred this foal using a straw today:
https://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=11645184#tabs-4
The stud is owned by the same person who I purchased the mare from. It's showing their breed name (I kinda get that), but also their tattoo? Is it normal for another breeders' tattoo to show on a foal if both parents have it? -
Yes! I didn't fully understand breeds not that long ago and had the exact same question! All the info you need is in the Manage My Breeds tab (specifically in the little box under Founding a New Breed).
If you breed two horses together that are the same breed (even if it isn't your own), the resulting foal will belong to that breed. :)ID# 25784 -
And you can also set a tattoo for horses of a certain breed. Some people use tattoos to sort their horses. I think this is only a premium feature? But, it thus follows, that any foal born of that bred, whether from the originator of that breed or an outside person, the foal will also have that breeds tattooProducer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Prices are almost always negotiable.
