June events are coming up. Can you tell me what you love to see in a rank special?

Exceptional producing or not?

What base colors do you like to see?

What genes get you excited?

What current herd helpers are your favorite?

What would the most useful herd helper for your account look like?

What do you not want to see and why?

These are just some suggestions for the kind of info I would love to know.

I like seeing fun colors, not necessarily brindle. Seeing a copy of gp is always fun, and/or snow (and love that we have RS that fit these loves!) a gp snow RS would fit my herd like a custom made suit personally. I love ExPerf HH but also love the fun current era ones too. Helpful? Probably not. But my thoughts nonetheless!

I love the ones that have a definite base color, like fuel to the fire and orca. Since I have multiple lines going, knowing to make a horse a draft vs riding horse because it will definitely fit the line is very helpful.

I'm sort of ambivalent on brindle vs not. I like them because of the opportunity for extra fancy colors, like the one I have that got splash 2 on one half. At the same time, I feel like it's less predictable to breed them since they can have multiple options for the foal. Even so, I have a few studs and favorite mares that are brindle, where I've either added RGS genes or modded them to have preferred genes.

I love the ones from last Christmas that had pangare plus! It was so neat to get that already on a horse. The gray ones are neat now that gray is much more realistic, too.
I do wish we had a "guaranteed fast varnish" appy, like how Evergreen Boughs is guaranteed not to varnish. I'm trying to breed chestnut appys that are almost white by 10 from varnishing, but it has been a slow process.

If I made an ultimate perfect HH for me, it would be guaranteed red-based, no KIT genes (so I can mod those on if I want), with fast varnishing appy, maybe dun or snowflake, and either one cream or one pearl. If there was guaranteed fast varnishing I would have a great new herd sire!

I think you are the first person I have ever seen ask for fast varnish. In fact, on mesa, someone asked for more guaranteed slow varnish and absolutely no Orca lol. You are a unicorn. :))

I do like the slow varnish too, they're great for my draft line. But I want fast varnish for the riding horse line. :))
I'm happy to be a unicorn! (I was mostly using Orca as an example of a non brindle RS that I know for a fact will fit my draft goals - I could have used silver pocket watch and it would have been just as good an example)

Exceptional? Yes, please.
I love both Black Liver and hom DP bays. W3, W10 and Kit M are my favorite spotting genes. I love silver with the dark bay. Sab 2 is awesome, too.
Shadow of Mars and Freaky Friday are a couple of my favorite current HHs. The most helpful HH to me would be a hom DP EXPerf, either liver or bay, maybe with white spotting.
I'm not a huge fan of w1, w2 or wild bay. Those two white genes seem to be more lethal when mixed with others than the rest are. I don't care for wild bay simply because I prefer dark coats.

I’m in love with splash, which surprises no one. I like the experf ones the best and tend to use them, while the regular ones I tend to ignore. I also adore pangare plus. I would love a palomino with splash 2 or even splash 1 for a herd helper, I feel like we don’t see enough palomino ones (though maybe because I’m still in my first year playing, I’ve just missed them)
I don’t really want to see another bay only because I feel like there’s so many bays, maybe it’s just me because I’ve never been a part of the real life bay hype either haha.

I prefer exceptional herd helpers.

I have all the base colours in different lines I've got going in my barns, so I don't really have a singular preference.

I get really excited about any darkening genes, KP, GP, sooty+, pangere+, satin, roan, belton/tobiano, grey, and sometimes splash.

Many of my favourite herd helpers are not exceptional (but I wish they were!): orca, root beer float, dark chocolate, imani (to name only a few, lol).
Some of the helpers that are exceptional that I love are
light in the dark, pint of guinness, new coke, and nightingale songs.

I wouldn't want to see sabino or Lp because I have a lot of those in my breeding herd already and I want to cut back on them a little bit. :)) I've bred a few lethal foals because there's so many Kit genes in my herds.

So in conclusion, I basically like them dark, sparkly, and exceptional. :D

definitely exceptional are my favorite. Pangare+, DP, snowflake, halo varnish, ASR, dfp1, satin or pearl. this is one of my favorites

Since June will also be a new era I would love to see some herd helpers that fit that era and are perfect foundations.

I use both exceptionally producing and not depending on what program I'm using the horse in.

I like darker base colors, black, bay, ect... I also like liver chestnut and dun.

I would love to see an ExP Grullo herd helper. I think a roan combined with rabicano would be nice as well.

Some of my favorite herd helpers are Blackest Night, Shadow of Mars, Exceptionally Perfect Silver Black, Songs of Old, Silver Pocket Watch, Olive Branch, New Coke, Midnight Clear, Song of Sleipnir, Dove of Peace, Blue Hawaiian.

I love seeing things like satin, KP, M, sooty+, DP, and nd1.

Things I tend to avoid are LP, varnish, cream, pearl, champagne, and grey. I also tend to avoid w1, w2, and w3 since they don't play well with a lot of the other splash genes.

I love ExPer/Pro Brindle, Hm DP and SNF for genes that can be randomly generated. I like dark bases like Black Liver or Hm sooty bays.

W3,W8,W10, To and M get me excited along with S+, P+ and satin as my favorite non-licensed GMT lab genes that pop up in some Rank Specials.

My favorite RS are Pretzel Twist, Nightingale Songs, Song Of Sleipnir, Shadow of Mars, Olive Branch, Bronze Age, New Coke, Dove Of Peace, Hidden Gates, Liberation Actualization.

My favorite C/Yellow RS are Freaky Friday, Cherry Drop, Dark Chocolate and Kings Ransom but that paper level has a very specific project that I'm not looking to add additional RS to.

W1, W2, and w20 are too dangerous in my lines and I will avoid RS with them unless it comes into my budget as worth GMTing out.

I am not currently after the era leaderboards, so ExPerf is my preferred! I breed mostly experf-based even gens.

I love bay or buckskin based HH! The darker the coat + the more dapples, the happier I am.

Anything with DP or ExPerfs with Z get me the most excited. I am also always over the moon for a chance to get GP or S+ or sa on a foundie!

New Coke is my #1 HH, no bones about it. It is PERFECT for what I want to do. Nightingale Songs is a very close #2 - most of my current fav stallions are based on this HH. I love the ExPerf silver black. The perfect HH for me is essentially New Coke with Silver lol.

I don't breed for appies, so I do try to avoid LP. Every HH that has them, I tend to sell off!

My favorite helpers are Song of Selipnir and New Coke. (Brindles are exciting too!)
I love satin and Kp, both are pretty big in my lines.

I love black and red liver chestnuts with no markings, either like this handsome red fella,

I do love exceptional rank specials, for sure. I really like homozygous ones too, especially for things that modify colors, like dun or cream.

Genes I love to see in rank specials: DP, silver, dun, KP, satin, tobiano, sooty. Would be way cool if Sooty+ or Pangare+ could be added in but I realize that is probably a long shot :x

I love ones that offer some really fun genes - satin, DP, pearl, KP, ice, sooty+.

My favorite bases are always darker, and I prefer them not exceptional producers. Brindle is always fun though!

I mentioned around Superbowl season that it would be cool to have an Budweiser themed ex pro bay sabino (whichever sabino it is that clydsdales have) herd helper so we could make Budweiser clydsdales… now I want it even more so I can make a rainbow riot line of clydsdales! =))

I think it would be neat to have a grey reduction herd helper since it is no longer a restricted gene.

Poppy White is one of my favorite herd helpers because it is the only red papered herd helper with satin. I also love Songs Of Old because P+ is one of my favorite genes and I love the way it looks on dun. I also get excited over any create that pops out with snowflake, even if it’s just het… and super excited when hom snowflake herd helpers pop out without PATN 1. I wish we had a snowflake HH that was slow fading like evergreen boughs. Or something similar to Ostara that is EE, does not necessarily need dilute genes.

We’ve never had any with snowdrop or sun either and that could be fun since it could blend into most of our pearl lines.

Since we have nexus and ice HHs now, it would be neat to have some other orange gene HHs. A chocolate herd helper would be really cool.

I belive Clydesdales were found not to have sabino at all but I have not heard any updates about what KIT mutations they have in a long time.

Interesting! Since it seems pretty consistent throughout the breed and common in crosses, you’d think it would be a pretty easy gene for geneticists to isolate.

I remember reading somewhere that traditionally, true blagdon vanners didn’t produce max white. I’m trying to find where I read it. Maybe there is a connection.

ID love to see some more dapple bays. Perhaps something that guarantees STY STY and P P with no dilution genes

ID also love something pure black. EE aa no w genes and wf none.

Perhaps a new grey tobiano horse to showcase those new updates?

Something with hom halo, het lp and hom patn. Maybe on a sooty base (could be quite a special one)

Something with hom tiger eye 1 or het 1 het 2. (Again could be a special one)

I think it's better to keep the high value genes hard to get, keeps the market running. Same with the rarer rank specials. Means when they do come around there is a market for them.

I would love more herd helpers with dp, nd1, sooty, or s+. I like horses with darkening genes and sometimes with cream, silver or champagne thrown in the mix. I just love how nd1 gives the dun markings but makes the horse much darker than dum. I'm always happy with any nonlethal white as well as appaloosa. I also love dapples so a new rank special with a strong chance of dapples would be great.

I dunno if it's actually possible with the current gene/coloring system, but an RS that gave a really deep dark actual black silver would be so very cool!
