HuntAndJump was officially opened on June 1st, 2006 and every year we hold a big anniversary celebration in the month of June. It just so happened though that I am unavailable on May 21st through June 2nd, and June 8th through 23rd. That means packing a whole bunch of awesome stuff into June this year is going to be tough. So instead of trying to make it all work in June, I am spreading out the load. You will get some stuff in May, some in June, and some in July.

Every year we have a theme. This year it is "Hold Your Head Up High!" We are celebrating our diversity and what makes us all unique this year. And that means adding some more diversity to our income horses in lots of ways. Is this and all the saddlebred and friesian talked linked ... it's a mystery. ;) What could this possibly mean?! :)) (Here is a hint, it is related to those new breeds you have been making.)

We are kicking off herd diversification with a huge and mean HUUUUUUGE change up to herd helpers. I have gone through and made 53 previously special event-only herd helpers, now available for random creations. Next month we will get getting a bunch of new herd helpers that will be all normal perfect create ability. I wanted to make sure our exceptional breeders still got lots of new horses to play with. The best way I could think to do that was to throw open the door on our huge library of prior herd helpers and let members create the ones they love the most. Some of these are very rare and have not been released in years.

Every herd helper listed below can now be obtained randomly. No special event required. Events marked with an 'e' are exceptional.

I am beyond excited to see what's up with the saddlebred art. I used to own a saddlebred and just love them. Arabians are forever my favorite, but there's a special place for saddlebred in my heart.

I wanted to share the rough calendar of what is coming out this celebration season.

May

-We have the herd helper reroll price drop and the big herd helper release posted about above.
-We also have the discounted gene price sale, based on your votes.
-Gift exchange entries open on the 15th!

June

-Gift exchange assignments go out sometime on the 1st!
-New RGS genes available every day, game items on discount change very few hours.
-Special event herd helpers start appearing this month. Not every day has one but I tried to get every Thursday through Sunday. There is a huge number of brand new herd helpers this month, many with very fancy limited genes.
-We are going to TRY and get breed characteristics out in the second half of the month but this is a huge project (more info to come) and the next month is very disrupted. If they are not out in June they will be out asap in July.

July

-Special event herd helpers continue for the rest of this month.

Something very important you need to know! We will be rebuilding our payment processing system later this year. That will include improving how subscriptions are managed, and a price increase on subscriptions. We have never increased the price of any item in the game before and premium subscriptions are about 15 years old. Because of inflation, we get about 30% less money per sub than we used too. Our game is also a lot more expensive to run now because of the features we have added, hiring people, server cost increases, and our living expense increases because of inflation. The subscription should cost around 11 dollars if we straight inflation adjusted which I feel is too big of a jump. In the fall this year we will be upping the price to $9.50. This will not impact already existing subscriptions. We will grandfather those in, so if you were contemplating a sub and want to get one before the price goes up later this year you should jump on that. You will also need a subscription to take full advantage of the new breed characteristics, though it will not be mandatory.

Since I already have a subscription, do I need to stop it and get a new one for the new price or could you simply adjust the amount on your end to reflect honorable pay for you? Also wish to offer that $11/mo is Not an unfair jump and would not make me personally change anything about my game play. If the $9.50/mo is found to be too little to provide adequate coverage for cost of living, then I will not be surprised or offended if it must be increased again.

It is incredibly kind to offer to voluntarily pay the higher price to support us. Deeply touching. Once we put out the price increase you could cancel your current sub and start a new one at the higher price if you wish. I think we will have to do something as a thank you to the people who do that for us. <3

What @Looper said 100%. I love this game immensely and I’m obsessed with it (and online just about most of the day haha). I see all the work you do, for the game improvements and building the community you’ve built. There is no reason for us to not pay you a living wage- which means properly increased to $11. I can’t imagine any player on here saying anything different, we all see and respect the work you do. I pay for two subscriptions right now- for myself and another player- and I will be asking that player to pick up the higher amount for their account as well.

The GMT lab can now update ALL horses even altered ones.
The Height Regulator gene has had its licensing restrictions removed. Tiny ponies for all!

Ammit you are amazing! I love all these updates! I have been playing this game for years and would 100% pay more than I do now for the subscription. It's the only game I play consistently and continuously enjoy updates for! :) Worth every penny!

Looking forward to all the new content. :) I'll happily restart my sub when the increase goes live. I'm sure its a coding nightmare, so maybe not feasible - but is it possible to create a sliding scale of sorts? Base starting at 9.50 up to like 15 or something and people can choose to pay more if they so desire?

New celebration surprise just landed

I have added 5 new clubs to the breeder club list

*Wild Bay
*Brown
Pangare+
Fantasy: Onyx
Fantasy: Rainbow Riot 2

* I split the Bay club into Bay, Brown, and Wild Bay. If you had horses with brown in the color name they have been removed from the Bay Club. You will need to re-register your horses in the new Brown Club.
Any Bay horses who have the agouti promoter gene have also been removed from the Bay club. They can be entered in the new Wild Bay club.

Don't forget you can look at any club to see the entry rules, and there is an --ENTER ALL-- option on club registration so you can mass register horses for these new clubs.

I entered everyone applicable into the new clubs, but they aren't refreshing to show leaderboards yet. I'm not sure if it's because I got in when there's only about 1k horses or less in the clubs, and they'll refresh later on. But wanted to mention it. :)

You have to open the page of the horse, breed them, or show them to update your horses.

My month of nonstop schedule disruption has ended! I am back home in Sofia now and so excited to get to work properly! We will be fully focused as a team on getting breed characteristics out as quickly as possible.

Here is a photo from where we were staying in the village. (Hi Fifi) The village here was founded in the 1390s, though the oldest remaining houses are from the late 1800s.

Here is a revival-style village, from shortly after Bulgaria was freed from Ottoman slavery. (1880s)

And here is a shot of the town where Jenx grew up. It is the old capital of Bulgaria and was founded some 6000 years ago.
