First horse...
-
What was the first horse on here? Is there away for me to find it? I would like to see it if there is away to do it.
-
I don't see a way to search for horses by their id # but I know The Brindled Cat was one of the first horses on here. I looked him up and he has ID #3 so that's pretty close to the first horse. All those early horses were archived a long time ago so make sure you are including deceased horses in your search.

He is gorgeous.

Just searched by ID and I got this guy. His ID is #1.
Foundation Horse
EDIT: Rather interestingly he has a but load of foals ranging from 26 to 4 years old, but all the foals parents are only listed as foundation horses. It appears I have found the creator of all foundations!
EDIT #2: I got curious to see if creating just a normal random horse would appear in his offspring section, and if a HH horse would appear. And the answer is yes to both. This is super interesting!

That's so cool @Bourbon! Would make sense why the 'ancestors' of all foundation horses are a Black Warmblood, who is Showable Only! I've actually always wondered why that was - now I know!
ETA: If you click on the 'Foundation Horse' name in the pedigree tab of all horses that are G3 or less, it will take you to that horse.. Can't believe I never figured that out earlier lol :))AztecArabians

Nice. I knew most said black showable. Very interesting.
-
Well that's awesome!

It's kind of cool to see how many of my horses are offspring of this #1 black stallion. I wonder if I can find the mare?
-
Yup, he is the Foundation of everything!Owner Of Bellwether Farm

If you look at a foundation horse, that black gelding is actually both their sire and their dam. I think that's why all the mares in a foundation horse's pedigree say Showable only instead of Failed. It's because those mares in the pedigree are really geldings and not mares.

That makes sense
