Pricing colts?

    How would one best decide what’s a reasonable price for 13.5-13.8 colts (out of a boosted stud so won’t pass SBA)? Not fantasy, but some desirable genes and fairly flashy. I thought about popping them in the auction but I figured it could be a useful advice situation regardless for myself and others.

    Colts honestly don't sell near as much as fillies. When I sell my even bred lines, I tend to price the fillies at 5k and the colts at 3k. Even if there are a bunch of fantasy genes/goodies on them that people tend to like. I'll sell a handful of colts a season, then either geld and keep the rest or chuck them in auction.

    If these are uneven bred, you could ask in the bootstrap chatroom if anyone is interested, or post on the forum about selling high PT colts. People may want to alter them themselves for show ponies though.

    That’s kind of what I was thinking, keeping them as show fellows unless people wanted bootstrap boys but I figured it never hurts to ask those with more game knowledge for sure!

    I’m currently giving mine for 1hb to new players and create price for established ones for bootstrapping, just cause I can’t bring myself to geld my star boys and I have too many. Mine aren’t as high PT as yours though!

    I may do that in the future, but I am trying to build up my show horses so I know that’s smartest but it def hurts to snip some of them for sure! I may leave intact to show for a bit too.
