I thought of this idea (and won't be offended if nobody wants to participate) to do a Bootstrap embryo exchange. It's a great way to allow controlled access to your lines, unlike simply selling straws or eggs.

If you wish to add an offering, simply post your available stallion and mare pair(s) on this thread and specify whether they are double boosted (5% boosted clones of 5% boosted horses) single boosted, or not boosted. 13.20 + PT scores are preferred, since i'm hoping this will become a thread where serious bootstrappers can come to trade some lines and bring variety into their barns.

You can add your offering and ask a fellow poster directly if they would like to trade with you, or ask folks to make you offers. I hope the idea makes sense.. Feel free to ask questions!

I love this idea! Hopefully it’ll still be going in a month or two! I have two pairs, one boosted and another double boosted but they just turned 2 and 3

@Ammit thank you for asking - just a bad use of words I guess.
I can dive a little deeper into my thought process behind it...

It's intended as a way for folks to share high level bootstrap lines that they may otherwise keep private because what they're offering is an already made "foal" rather than just straws or just eggs. I know that breeding restrictions are against the rules and that's not what I'm trying to do here - if it looks that way, I apologize and can change the structure of the program or do away with it altogether. :)

Using my barn as an example (and I know some others do this too) - I do make all of my high level boys public, but usually like to wait a couple of seasons and breed them exclusively to my double boosted mares so I can get a feel for how good they really are, and how they perform within my barn before I turn them loose to sew their wild oats across HAJ.
Through this program, I can share foals from my gorgeous new studs and my mares, and since the embryo purchaser becomes the foal's breeder, they can then boost and clone the foal as they see fit, rather than me being the breeder and them having to ask me to do it for them. I usually sell quite a few foals every season, but then I get an influx of folks messaging me because they accidentally altered, or want a clone made, ect.
It really is intended as a way for folks to get strong future breeding prospects from eachother and share their cool lines. And anyone interested can participate, it's not restricted.

@Kismet Do you have an account where you are doing this on a different server? I'd love to participate but this account does not have a basic upgrade yet which, once I have enough HBs/IVs I will purchase it with IVs. My 2 other accounts have a basic, so I was just wondering.

@Laurbell Unfortunately I do not. I think I made an account on Mesa back when it first came out, but I dropped it. It would be cool to implement a program like this on all servers though.

@Laurbell That's fine with me! Bootstrapping is basically just breeding for the highest PT score and breeding ability you can get.

Is there a forum post breaking down bootstrapping? I have a bootstrap stud and sorted mares...but this will be my first season breeding and I'd like to use my bootstrap boy. What PT score do you not keep the foals for your show herd?

Personally, I won't bother with anything lower than a 14.0PT for my show string now, but everyone's benchmarks are different.
