I wrote this ridiculous little verse for my giftee, and now that I've revealed and they have read it I'm posting it here for you all to enjoy.
I'm a little embarrassed, but I also think the silly thing deserves to be shared. :)

PonPon the Christmas Pony
On the eve of the gift exchange all through the stable
spirits were high for every roan, dun, and sable.
The riders were nestled all snug in their bunks,
dreaming of ribbons and hedges and jumps.

The stallions were trying to impress all the mares
and the yearlings caused mischief by making up dares.
Over their mangers the ponies told
stories and legends from times of old.

They told of how on Christmas night
PonPon the Christmas Pony made her annual flight.
"How can she do that?" The yearlings asked.
"To visit the world she must be real fast!"

The ponies all wondered, surmised, and discussed,
then finally agreed it must be pixie dust.
Out in the snow a soft nicker sounded,
the ponies raced out--nostrils flared and eyes rounded!

In the snowfall she stood, that creature of legend
PonPon the Christmas pony in moonlight that glistened.
She was chubby and round, and she'd brought them all gifts
of apples and carrots and peppermint sticks.

She tossed her head with a gleam in her eye
and galloped away across the night sky.
The silence was broken by one final neigh
wishing them all a happy holiday.
