Belton spotting has arrived!
-
What is belton?
Belton spotting is a new hypothetical gene based on a real-life phenotype in horses called belton spotting. There is a link between belton spotting and white marking suppression. It also seems to have a link to the tobiano gene. The exact mechanisms are unknown.
I have added to the game a gene called "pigment density regulator" with the allele Bl (for belton). Horses with the Bl allele will have reduced white markings and freckles of pigment breaking through their white markings. Hom. belton has more freckles than het. The presence of tobiano increases the number of freckles and hom. tobiano has an even great impact.
It only creates freckles into pinto markings but because it increases pigment density it does have an impact on appy markings wich are pigment density sensitive.
Belton has no restrictions or licenses.
How do you get it?
Belton can now be purchased for 5 USD a copy. It can also be obtained via the GMT lab for five tokens a copy. If you are very lucky you can create a copy. Belton spotting is pretty darn rare in real life, so it is not very common in random creates.
Here is a link to all the horses on this server with belton.
Here are a few pre-generated examples as well if you are interested.

Going to definitely do some kind of modding on this lil one. -
So if I’m understanding this right, the horse has to have tobiano to express the freckles? Or does it work with all white markings, but it seems to have more freckles with tobiano?

Here's my boy. I'll probably do a few more things to him before he's of breeding age, but I love the tiny spots on his legs :) -
@FallenShadows74 - The GMT lab has been updated to indicate with genes count as "pinto markings" - looks like it includes tobiano, various splashes, almost all KIT genes (except for roan), and frame. LP and rabicano do not count.~Purveyor of the finest riding horses in Rakia~

This is a super exciting gene, I love it.
I hope we get a Belton herd helper named Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato -

Oooh I just saw this! Exciting!Hey there! I am an Autistic adult (have patience please) with a great love of horses and anything to do with genetics. I have only been active for a short while so I am learning my way around.

I had a big paint mare that had this gene/ or rather spotting, she was a dark bay that looked black tobiano with this spotting and roaning on her. I don't know her breeding as I rescued her at 19 years old but she was a big girl at 16 hands she did not look quarter at all so I don't think Apha unless she was Tb Apha?
Was thinking she looked like a walking horse?
