Roving Gene Sale?

    Silly question- is the Roving Gene Sale for upgraded accounts only?

    Also, which genes are Orange?

    I’m new and don’t know a lot about what is available to Basic Account players.

    The gene sale is available to anyone who has an account.

    I'm not quite sure which are orange.

    Nothing happens to them. They just sit.

    So far I have found that these genes are orange:

    Fantasy- Axiom locus- X or W (but not R, G, or B)

    Fantasy- Ice locus- 1, 5, possibly others

    Fantasy- Chocolate locus- b

    Orange genes are fantasy genes. These are genes that you need a license for but also don't exist in real life. Hence the term "fantasy".

    An example of a gene that isn't fantasy but you do need a license for is mushroom, which is typically found in Shetland ponies.

    For the straws they will stay with your account, but you will be unable to access them until you renew your upgrade. The only exception would be if they have a time limit on them, and expire before you get an upgrade.

    Pigment modifiers- Dun Factor Promoter locus- DFP1
    (but not DFP2!)

    Pigment modifiers- Grey reduction locus- g

    Ice 8 is the other orange Ice locus gene

    Thank you for the further information on straws!

    I know that you need a gene license for the purple genes, but I believe that you don’t actually need a gene license for the orange genes. Anyone can bid on an orange-gene horse at auction.

    "Purple Genes require a gene license to purchase, Orange Genes can only be purchased privately or via the auction. Glowing Genes are fantasy genes."

    This is on the color test info block on every horse. :)
