Appaloosa varnishing
-
So I have never payed a ton of attention to Lp conversations in the past because I wasn’t interested in adding it to my lines. Now I am waiting to add several foundation girls to my program, but am at a loss.
I know I want my future generations to fade as slowly as possible. I know Snf speeds up the process a lot, and halo changes how the spots fade, but beyond that I’m at a loss. I know there is one HH that has the invisible extra slow fade gene, but don’t remember which one? Are there good ways to breed for slow fade?
Can someone please clear this up? Please and thank you. -
EvergreenBoughs is the HH, as for your other questions, I'm not very helpful. :))

Thank you.

Basically just breed for slower fading horses and you will get slower fading. Compare your horses at the same age. The ones with more varnish will fade faster. Just keep selecting horses with less varnish.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Thank you.

I have some bootstrap mares for sale who have the slow vanishing gene, although they've also got other stuff like tobiano, Rabicano, etc. I bumped my sale post up so you can see it.

@silverborn thank you for the offer, however I’m going to be even breeding this line. :)

I see! Best of luck, then!

I have been breeding for slow fading varnish in my non fantasy cob line. It's pretty easy to recognize the slow/medium/fast fading once you get the hang of it. I can show you some comparisons to help get you started recognizing the differences after work/this weekend.#28036

@Haltanny thank you. That would be extremely helpful.
