Have that amazingly special foal that you just wish could have gotten better results? For 5 GMT you can now make any lined horse you own have the maximum possible showing and breeding ability. They won't be better than you can get from random luck but they will be the maximum you could have gotten.

I would advise if you wish to also boost to do so AFTER maxing out ability.

I’m loving this, this will ensure my benchmarks are true benchmarks in every way. Sooo does this mean if we have a real disappointment that the max will work for those to then pass all testing? (!!)

Not all crosses can produce a foal that is capable of passing all testing. You are guaranteed to get the best foal a cross can produce. There is no guarantees about testing.

It's almost like finding a 'niche'. Special 'compatibility' between certain mares and stallions.

Is it something more along the lines of "If this pairing could produce offspring that passes BA, then this max out ability pushed them to that point (or beyond)"? Like how a bootstrapped Star stud with a yellow mare will never produce a foal that passed BA, but a Perfect Foundation Mare and Perfection Foundation Stud can produce one that passes? This just makes the foal the best that those two horses could produce together.

This is such a godsend for my double boosted foundation line! My 2g mares that test superior but only paper blue now get pushed to gold without me having to boost them :x This is my new favorite thing :D

This is one of the those occasions where I feel like you make upgrades just for me, even though I know I had nothing to do with it. All my pretty A foundation boys are thanking you. So am I.

Okay I have a question. So I know if you double boost a horse and it gets a -pt you can use max to bring it back up for 15 pt. For example the horse is 15 pt, I clone it and the clone if 14.7 pt. When I use max it brings it back up to 15 pt.

Do I have to be wary of using it on horses that go above 15 pt with cloning? Will it reset them back down to 15 pt because it's the "best" the parents can give? If a horse is 15.3 pt and I use max will the pt stay at 15.3 or reset it back down to 15 pt?

This is a great feature and I'm loving it so far.

@pestilenttempest that is far to hypothetical a question for me to answer you. I have no idea what it does at that level to double boosted clones. It was not designed for that. I will say I set it up to never lower a horse's ability but PT score is not the same thing as the number this is altering and I just can't give you any information about such an extreme use.

My first thought is always “how can I implement this new thing into my bootstraps.” Haha. And I know I ask the herd questions which is how I came to double boost in the first place. Lots of experimenting to see what works. ^_^

So for sure adding max to a horse that has been boosted above the breeding cap does not reduce its’ paper level. I haven’t been brave enough to try it on one of my super nice double boosted ponies yet to see if it impacts their pt score.
