DP Yes, no?

I know this is a frequent topic, but I'm still getting my head around DP.
I have this little guy:

And he seems very dark compared to most other buckskins I've seen. Is it just the Hom sty making him dark, or could he possibly be carrying DP? His sire is Hom sty and is nowhere near as dark. (More to the point, his sire is A Rhythm of Four RS, does that RS carry DP?) -
He definitely has dp. Id even say he is hom dp. Check him against this dp chart

His sire is het DP so there is a good chance that he passed that down and your boy is het DP as well.Thanked by 1ellieroseek

Oh yeah, checking that chart he does almost look Hom DP. That's interesting. I figured the sire had DP, but not convinced the dam does.

I think the sire is het, but you can't tell with the dam as she is black based. Remember, this horse does have one copy of black himself. I don't think he is hom dp.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

He's much darker than his sire, so maybe he is homozygous DP? Although I just realised sire is homozygous brown which lightens them up doesn't it. At least you can be confident he has one DP!
