Do mares ever do snaking?
-
Got a bunch more breyer stablemates for costuming, and I got a horse that is the body style I would love to modify to be a mare in a herd I have been building up... but it is a stallion snaking... Like stallion I can change, but is the posture too obviously stallion to help? It is breyer stablemate mustang (Not the Rivet model)All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps.

Typically it’s what stallions do when herding their mares or chasing an outside horse away from the heard they weave their neck while biting and people started calling it snaking lolID 53752 Breeding ponies of all sizes and lots of pretty colors!Thanked by 1Ammit

It is a flat out fun with the neck straight out and kinda to the side, ears down, that I am used to seeing in wild horse documentaries with stallions moving mares into the herd. All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps.

Mares do indeed snake. I have been in the thoroughbred industry for basically forever and have seen them snake their foals or even their buddies if they feel a situation is sketchy. Ex: new horses added to pasture, scary balloon stuck in a tree, hang gliders floating over the farm, bicyclists, etc. :)
