Hey all, I am planning on GMT'ing this Conversation Hearts mare into a KP and Snowflake mare.

I'm assuming she can still carry Snowflake without Appy genes, but just won't show it? Just thought I should check before I spend the GMT tokens!

From my understanding yes, that is correct. One of my snowflake boys didn't show up as a snowflake until I GMT'd the Lp on him but he obviously had both genes. You won't be able to register her as a snowflake though because it wont show.

Thank you, I was only going to give her one copy at this stage, so she wouldn't have shown up on the breeders club anyway, because I also want to give her two copies of KP and maybe a GP gene. I could always add an Lp gene later on if it was an issue

Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't have wasted it on her when I could have saved it for another horse! Thanks again

Well, if you aren't going to add two copies of snowflake onto her then I wouldn't worry about Lp. As long as you breed her to a HOM snowflake male or another HET snowflake appy male, you should be fine. If the foal gets both copies of snowflake then you can just add the Lp to the foal later.

This is my HET Snowflake girl and she has thrown some lovely snowflake babies without having appy.
