How is everyone looking for Rollover?
  • I have 548 horses at risk (out of 5242 horses).

    Of those:
    494 are geldings/spayed mares
    13 are stallions
    41 are mares

    My oldest are 28:

On the bright side, I can use extra barn space for the gift exchange!
  • I don't even look any more....I need to go through them can't believe its the end of the season basically already

  • I've got over 1200 at risk. I've started keeping track each season of how many I lose, just for funsies. Over the last four months, I've averaged a loss of about 300-350 horses.
    ID# 25784
  • Odds are this love will not be around next month. :( There's a couple of Leucoryx sons that are my top pointers too but I'm not looking at the shows as much as my breeders now.

  • I have 559 at risk this month out of 5676. What surprised me was the 3 38 year olds.

None of them are all that impressive except for their age.

I do hope I get one more season with this fellow.

And a few of my show horses studs. Need to start double boosting a few more.

    I also have 3 38 year olds

  • I have 1534 at risk (out of 4782, roughly 32% of my horses). My barn skews old at the moment because I had to take a couple game months off.

My oldest horse is this girl at 37... who was NOT named by the random name generator. She's how Very Little Me used to think "infinitesimal" was spelled/spoken and became a bit of a running joke in the family.

  • @FeldingFields I love the story for her name. Hope Rollover isn't too cruel to anyone!
  • This is my first rollover where I might lose someone! I was gifted an awesome stud for my bootstrap barn and I’m hoping he makes it another season!
  • I have 1200 or so at risk.

A few 38 year olds, a few lined stallions I could lose or that will age out of their breeding years.

This girl is at risk. She represented what I still feel like was my most adult moment of my life, paying off our mortgage so we could knock down the old house on our property and build our dream home where we are now living, with just a couple more weeks of detail work to complete it (plus all the gardening….).

I also have a few shiny foundation girls at risk like this one.

  • New player question— is there anything we should be doing to prep for rollover? I, as a new player, don’t have anything in risk of aging out.
  • I thankfully only have 55 over 18yrs old

  • @SummerMonarch others may have additional input, but to prep for rollover, I do the following:
    1) Check any stallions that are 17+ and make sure I have any straws I may want
    2) I set a goal to (doesn't mean it always gets done) go through all of my foals from the season and name them or mark them accordingly if I'm going to sell them.

  • @SummerMonarch the other thing to just be mindful of around the end of the month is that some people dump all of their ponies or show ponies at risk of aging out into the auction. Buying those horses is a gamble, as they might pass away at roll over or they might survive. Some of them may have a high points total and nightly payout, and if you gamble and win they can be a valuable addition to your show herd as you then have a guaranteed month at least with them contributing to your nightly hbs. But just be aware that it IS a gamble, and you could lose.

A final thing to check for is that some straws and eggs in your Breeding Lab may have an expiration date. It’s worth it to check if you haven’t done much lab breeding that month, just to make sure you don’t lose straws you’ve bought for a fair bit of hbs. The time limit on making sure you check this will vary depending on how much of an upgrade you have—I can make and store embryos so I can check after the breeding season ends, but if you can’t you will need to use expiring straws before the end of the breeding season and not just before monthly rollover.

  • Shattered and Ornery made it! Ornery is now my 32 yo high point show-off :) Lost about 50k so ouch...

  • Woof, I lost 200k. More sad though is that I lost a bunch of the original creates I made when I started this account.
