I tried to list several horses awhile back, and some could be listed and some couldn't. I'm guessing orange genes (Nexus, DFP1, etc. that don't require a license) can't be listed publicly, so that begs the question of why the purple (licensed) genes can? Does it go back to the issue of inferior horses being sold at high prices?
ETA: These two horses are just ones that I picked to example the problem, there were maybe 30 horses I was listing at that time.

But this one gives me an error: "This horse has a restricted(orange) gene and can not be placed for public sale. It may be sold via auction or buddy sale only." (Oh hey, typo there. Will note it on the typo thread.) He does not have any orange genes.

I’m having the same issue, I’d love to list everybody privately for a couple weeks prior to running auction. I feel as if A LOT of my higher quality mixed gene stock end up “gamed out” from being ran in auction vs private sales. I do list a bunch in the chat rooms but the exposure there vs public sale is dramatically different…

I could SWEAR I used to be able to publicly list my chinchilla ponies, and recently I have been unable to. It seemed to be all licensed genes, but just the other day I listed some with licensed genes for public sale with no error. At this point I am also confused.

I really wish that the fantasy (orange gene) public sales restrictions would be lifted nowadays. I just feel like we have moved away from the overpricing issue from the past and that people price more responsibly now. It just makes trying to sell those horses so tedious.

If you are contributing to the bug report please post example horses. Thanks. I can't work off vague recollections. There are 18 chinchilla horses for sale on the public board, I also just tested it, so if you are having issues it does not seem to be because of chinchilla.

@AHayesHorses It absolutely would go back in an instant. The reason people are responsible with pricing is because of that change. The issue is not and never was forum members.

The issue with the above horse was the ice 7 gene. It was listed as an orange gene due to the complex history of 7. I have removed the flag and it should list no problem now. I also added an extra bit of text if that restriction does come up to say exactly what allele is causing the issue to prevent confusion.

I’m newer on the site and I’m wondering about the overpricing issue. What went down to cause the change with orange genes?

Players with fantasy genes were selling poor-quality horses to less experienced players for exorbitant prices.
