So, as most of the older (lower numbered) players have noticed, I was absent for most of this year. My life turned out quite differently than I would have expected it to for this year. Around August-Septmber last year, my marriage was collapsing, and by mid February, Divorce was filed. I moved 12 hours away from my ex in the middle of winter. Not a fun thing to do with less than 5 hours of sleep in 48 hours, a dog, a truck with a trailer, motorcycle, and heirloom saddle. I made it though to my destination without much hassle from Mother Nature or other drivers.
Once at my destination, I took a week to get myself together. As I was about to start my new job, Bam! I had my first ever UTI at 34 years old. I had to post-pone my job for a week as I could barely roll out of the hotel bed to escort my dog for potty needs. I had lost 30 pounds, barely could stomach more than a handful of "food" twice a day, and my hair was thinning out from all the stress caused by my breaking marriage; which I think led to my body being weakened enough to have said UTI.
The whole 6 months that I lived in the hotel room, going through an uncontested divorce from a different state, working 6 days a week (less than 100 feet from where I lay my head), I'm searching for a home to buy, or apartment to rent that will accept my dog. Finally got an apartment to share with my friend about 5 minutes drive from work where I can unstress from the day, and not be woken up at all odd hours of the night by a exit door being repeatedly opened, room doors being slammed, the yelling and fighting, cops ..... (doing their jobs), etc, etc from hotel life. One month into the apartment, and my divorce was final. Three months in the apartment now, with my dog and best friend-roommate, and I am happier than I was my whole marriage.
I am working on making a come back in real life, and now, trying to rebuild my barns in the game. Over the last week or so, I've been working on trying to remember to log in from day to day. Wow, some many lost horses, lines, and well, it just makes room for all the New. The Sneaky Secret Squirrel isn't quite ready to make her gifting come-back, but she is back at least in the game. So ..... keep your eyes on the prize people, and well, I'm Back!!
