Just to be clear we consider this risky behavior with a strong chance of something happening and don't condone people moving horses back and forth for this purpose. We will not fix mistakes that happen doing this as it is not officially allowed by the game. We just don't really have a good way to stop people doing this.

I'm sort of unclear about the difference between this activity and doing the thing where someone trades a copy of [gene] on a certain horse for xyz hbs. Is that done differently, somehow?

The difference is that in buying a gene from the labs you can use the "buying for someone else" and put it on the horse in their barn. If you use the GMT lab, you have to physically hand over your project horse to the person doing it, which is risky because what if they decide to just keep it? What if they mess up other things in the lab? Ammit is saying she won't step in if something like that happens, because you're choosing to take that admittedly very risky step.

Ah, i see. So the buying for someone else is using IRL money and then being paid in hb, while this would have required transferring ownership of the horse to use in game currency. Thank you for the explanation!
