ISO New Herd Stud
-
With my GMTs from the leaderboards, I am also looking to GMT a new herd sire. I have a few characteristics in mind:
MUST HAVE
a. exceptionally perfect
b. GMTable
WOULD LIKE
1. het or hom sty
2. het A and het E
3. het cream
4. any silver, will pay double for hom
5. DP - high roller characteristic, will pay $$$
6. overo and tobiano are both welcome but not necessities
I've used a few Exceptionally Perfect Sooty HHs, but I am hoping to get a few more traits in from the get-go if possible. I prefer warmbloods, colts, and horses under 5, but those are negotiable for the right fit. -
Dark Silver Bay 8523492
Het black, hom A, hom Sty, silver
Dark Silver Bay 8523493
Het black, bay, silver, hom sty
ExPro Bucks 8523495
Het black, hom bay, hom cream
If any of these look interesting I'll sell to you. I know they're not exactly what you're looking for, but they're up for offer. -
I'll keep them in mind! I'm still hoping for exceptionally perfects, to match my herd of ExPerf mares
-
Understood! I'll keep these ones until you find someone and then probably either geld for show or auction them.
-
I don't currently have anything but I'll keep my eyes open during creates for the next few days.45120Thanked by 1whywishesarehorses

These are all XPerf and/or RS. They don't check all of your other boxes and some are mares, but let me know if you are interested!

ExPro silver might be a better herd helper to try - here's a couple ladies who fit a fair handful of your criteria (though needing a gender change), if you want either of them.

@SabreBaby I would take RS PerfectBrindleBritches amd the ExPerf sooty. Not sure if I would use them as my herd stud or as broodmares yet, but they are pretty additions to the herd for sure!
@Lallyhop I would also take both of those mares as broodmares!
You can drop them in my chat at whatever price you think is fair

Wishes, I put her up for 9k, hope that works for you. Let me know if not.

@silverborn not quite what I'm hoping for, but that one with het snowflake might be super exciting to someone!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone creates the perfect boy in their candy hunt -
I have this xperf gentleman who has E, A, and sty... I honestly haven't figured out which set of letters is get and which is hom so I'm not sure if he fits, but I'm hoping he might be able to help you out.

@Ktarpey he's certainly close! I'm going to keep my net open a bit longer, but I will consider him for sure. Het means he has one copy (Ee or Aa or Stysty,) while hom means two (EE or ee or AA or aa). They are shortened versions of homozygous and heterozygous.
-
Got it. So it's been... shall we just say a long time since my high school zoology class.... het genes are genes that are carried but not always expressed, whereas hom is carried and expressed? Or am I missing a detail?
-
I just realized that I have this little yearling mare as well with some genes you're looking for... she is a liver chestnut expro with e/e, A/a, Sty/Sty, and one copy of DP.
Not experf so I don't know if she'll appeal but you're welcome to give her a look. She's so pretty I'm half tempted to keep her.

@Ktarpey you've almost got it! Rather than expressed (which is based on dominant/recessive genes), it is based in what they might pass on to offspring! Hom = always passed on, het = sometimes passed on. A hom LP stud will always have appaloosa babies, for example.
She's super cute, lower PT than I am hoping for though. Thank you! -
Ok that makes more sense. I'm going to have to take a college course in genetics to get this all straight :-))
No problem! I'll keep an eye out for you
