Appy pattern size- Morphed into merge/boost/straws ?'s
  • Is there anything I can do with this fella in the lab to change how much white he's showing? I don't want to get rid of his Appy altogether because I'd like for him to be able to pass it on at least part time, for his halo gene to show in foals. Usually my non patn1 horses don't show this much Appy white markings lol.

  • I don't think there is anything you could do except maybe reroll his image.

    Chase ♡
  • Looks like he has the hidden genes that increase appy expression. Like Spry, I think your best bet is to spend some hbs on a few rerolls and cross your fingers. Appy can kind of suck that way. Remember that his colours from all his Rainbow Riot genes will also change when you reroll, so it might take a good few to end up with a combo you like.
  • I know S+ helps make spots bigger in my liver appies. :/

BTW Are you selling straws? Cause he's fab! :hearts:
  • @Looper, when he gets finished I will most definitely be selling straws lol. He's kinda my kitchen sink horse lol, if I want the license and he's got a open spot for it, he's getting it lol. It's gunna take me forever so I'll wind up making him chimera and setting his inheritance to this side lol. He will see a couple copies of S+ hopefully soon! I hope it helps lol.
Thanks Spry and Cheers, I've tried a few times and this is about as small as he's gotten lol. At least his babies will be colorful as all get out lol
  • Is the hidden PATN2 on the same locus as PATN1? If you GMT'd the hidden allele to PATN1 and then GMT'd it back to +, then you might be able to get rid of the hidden gene.

  • Ahh, @HTRanch, that may just be worth the experiment! Wonder if I could possibly just try to add + and see if that did the trick...
Also, another question for more experienced GMT lab players, when I merge him, will I still be able to set his inheritance to this DNA set? The wording of it in the lab had me confused as to if I would be able to GMT him further after merging. The only thing he would need at that point would be inheritance.
Also, if I were to pull straws from him now, would they count against him and mess up his GMT-ability? Or rather, if they were to be used now would it count against him?
With all the work I'm putting into him I'm also thinking of boosting him +5% so he has a better chance in my boot herds. Will merging affect that or can I do it after merge? And to get his age down when I'm ready he would have to be the 2nd DNA set, correct?
Sorry for all the questions, I've not merged any horses yet lol.
  • You can control the inheritance percentages on chimeras. You can set this DNA set to be 100% inheritance.

You can not GMT or merge a horse that has foals. Don't use straws from a horse you still want to edit. I would not even pull straws from him if you think you want to delete him using the merge.

I would not boost until after you have merged to prevent any problems. Yes, you can merge this DNA set into a younger horse and get a younger chimera as a result.
