Arranging to ship my horse
-
I am getting ready to sign a contract to ship my horse 1200 miles across the country. I haven't seen her in over a year because of the pandemic, and I also have not ever hauled her this far. I am super nervous about the whole thing, plus settling in at a new barn/finding a good fit for boarding, etc. At least she's with my family now and I don't have to worry about her.
Nothing really needed, just wanted to rant into the void about it! -
Who is shipping if I can ask?
I professional hual horses for a living. I know alot of hualee and maybe I could ease your worry alittle.
I would personally ship her with her hay she on now and differently give her an electrolyte paste few hours before she loaded. If you can afford a box stall go with it. It will allow her to stand what ever way more comfortable for her. They tend to drink more in a box stall too.
But don't worry to much. I shipped thousands of ponys form east coast to west coast and I only had 3 emergency over the years. Those 3 ponys got vet care and made fully recovery.
Best of luck to you and your girl!Thanked by 1whywishesarehorses -

@Makemeabird she's going with DiamondT. I think she'll be set on all those fronts though
