So I've never really slept good and I've always needed like 10 to 12 hours of sleep to finally feel like I've gotten even decently rested at night. I've always been nervous around doctors and I Don't go near like I should. I'm 32. Recently my whole family's been diagnosed with sleep apnea so I did an at home sleep test that my sister-in-law's dental office sends home. Well turns out I have terrible sleep apnea, some of the worst they've seen. He at home test showed that I stopped breathing on average 116 times an hour. Finally made a doctor's appointment and went in. He told me with those numbers he doesn't even know how I am awake. Order me the next level and I had to go in for a titration to get a sleep machine. They told me I stopped breathing as many as 144 times an hour and sometimes didn't take a breath for almost a minute. She didn't even know how I was able to function during the day. We are going on two weeks now from when I had my last sleep test done and I was supposed to finally get my machine today. And I got a call from the company that my insurance won't accept it because I should have had the original sleep test done in the lab and not at home. Scheduling around here takes a couple weeks to get in anywhere. I'm exhausted I'm stressed out I'm not functioning good at work. I can't focus on anything. And that's been going on a while it's just much worse now. The at home sleep study does the same thing that the lab does. And the study that I already did in the lab does the same thing it just doesn't have the sleep machine on during that. When I went for my one at the lab that had the sleep machine on she told me that I needed to get the machine as soon as possible and then I should have been pestering my doctor three days after and it's been two weeks and now it's going to take another couple of weeks to get in for this next test. In the meantime I'm at a high risk for a stroke and my brain has no downtime so it's pretty much like I'm not sleeping at all. So if you guys could keep me in your thoughts and prayers I would appreciate it. Very sorry that I haven't been able to get on here very much I just have so much going on in my life right now. My work actually came to me and dogged with me before I had my sleep study done because I'm not functioning near as well as I used to at work. I know that I'm not a danger getting fired right now but it does had to my stress because if it wasn't for this medical issue I probably would be a danger of being fired. I'm trying not to get over stressed cuz I know it's adding to everything but it's very difficult.

I'm so sorry to hear you've been having such troubles, but I'm glad you've got things in the works to be getting better! I know I don't do well with poor sleep, so I can only imagine how hard it's been for you to operate on little to nothing for so long.
I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you, hopefully you can get your machine quickly!ID# 25784 -
Oh hun! That's a mighty full plate. I remember when I got my sleep machine, in less than a month my life changed. Here's to you being able to get this all straightened out quickly.45120

Severe sleep apnea can be horrible, I know. I'm right there in the boat with you as far as how bad mine is, though thankfully I got my first bi-pap about twenty years ago. My apnea is so bad that my O2 levels were dropping into the 50s while I slept, which is very very bad. Good luck on getting your machine soon, it does make a huge difference in how you feel!~*~ Justa ~*~
