Mares AFPT
-
Do we still look at the foals pt score before we see if they need to be culled. Especially now that the mares can be papered at birth?
How are you all doing the mares? -
I just went through and made choices on all of my red papered 3g mares (they show ponies now) and did a tiny bit of AFPT culling, too.
From what I remember, AFPT can tell you something about the dam's quality, even if the PT of the foal tells you less about the foal. I've been doing something like Foundations no less than 9.8, 2g no less than 10.2, 3g no less than 10.8 and I don't really have an established 4g herd yet. My standards could be a lot stiffer, but I'm only just getting into the whole heartless thing. :PThanked by 1Ritsika
