I could cry! She passed SBA!
-
4/5 of Chessmates daughters had foals that passed SBA with Conflicted's son! I found his girls! :) And this one takes the cake for the season! All she needs is her dame's SNF. Getting 3rd gen Hom chinchillas that pass SBA from any of my boys is oddly painful!

She’s absolutely gorgeous but I’m curious about something. How did end up Homozygous Chinchilla when neither parent is Homozygous for it? Am I missing something here? I’m new to the Special genes. I’m still uncertain how exactly they work.Thanked by 1Looper

@EvieC It's a general genetics thing. There's a Punnett square guide in the FAQ under the Resources tab on the left. Both of her parents are Het which gives her a 25% chance of Hom chin, 50% chance Het chin, and 25% chance no chin. She beat some odds. :) There were additional odds against her passing the hardest tests that make her a breeding mare. That's a random thing of something between her parents breedability that I can't remember how to explain but that's why I'm really happy. I see about 25% of my crosses be full Chinchilla. It's rare I see a pair of my chin sires make full chin SBA passing foals.

That’s Amazing! Congratulations! She’s absolutely stunning!
So silly question but does that mean that my Het Watercolors could possibly produce Homozygous Watercolor? If so and if that happens I’d be so extremely excited and happy. -
@EvieC yes as long as both parents are Het Watercolor then they have a 25% chance of producing Hom foals. If you match parents generation and papers then you might also get the foals to pass testing. :) For the brightest colors I suggest getting DP and S+ in your lines ;)
