Hello Everyone!
-
I miss you guys! I have had just an absolutely crazy school semester. I can't even believe myself on how many crazy things have happened and how busy I've been. Everything from over committing myself to my great Aunt passing away. So sorry if I dropped the ball on any business deals. A reminder Thanksgiving week and I promise I'll set it to rights!
In the meantime I thought I might share my favorite picture from a small horse show I went to on Halloween. (Yes I'm working on purchasing the picture I'm just too excited, and of course you can see where the credit comes if you follow the link)

Thank you! This summer is the first time I've consistently gotten jumping lessons, although I've dreamed of jumping my entire life. Finally found a suitable horse that is still young enough to do it, and I think she loves it just as much (or more) than I do!
I appreciate the condolences on my Aunt too. She lived in our house for the last 6ish years but wasn't doing so great due to dementia.
Good luck at your horse show! Please share pictures and results!Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

Your form is beautiful! And I'm glad you've found a good jumping partner - having a horse who enjoys the job makes riding so much more enjoyable for everyone. And I'm sorry about your aunt - dementia is just so hard. Hugs! I know life is busy and HaJ has taken a back burner, but I do enjoy the times you are on :)
It's just starting to get cold here, and last month my gelding was out for a week with a massive abscess in his foot right before I was out for a week helping with a funeral and a wedding (in the same week!), so I missed some of the prime trail riding weather this year. But we ride rain or shine (or snow) so I'm excited to be able to get some winter riding in. I haven't been to a show in years, but someday I hope to get back into western dressage and ranch shows.ID 43830
It's nice to be back! :)

Yea, I keep thinking school has to start getting easier so I can get in the groove but then BAM its 2x as hard AND life decided to try to beat me up at the same time too. I've overcommitted myself housesitting and I've had bipolar sister drama too. So its always nice to go on HJ2 briefly. Although mostly there's just a couple buddy chats I check but that's about it.
I know its always crazy how things get stacked up with multiple things at once. Sorry about the funeral, but hope the wedding went well!
You'll get back into it! Before the 2 super tiny, 1 tiny, and 1 small show I went to this year I hadn't shown in 2 years and though it was going to be after I graduated until I got to show any more!Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

I will post pictures later because I am busy right now and I am getting the pictures on my computer and also putting them on hosting sites. :)Fth Stables

Ok on the first day I got a Reserve Champion. I was going to do jumping but he through his shoe and his foot was bothering him a little. He was walking funny we we first started riding but after that he looked a lot better. A got to do like one little crossrail just for practice in warm up. We ended up doing some flats and things like that. On the second day we got a 3rd,4th and another 4th. Then on one of are flats out of I think 16 riders( that a ridiculous amount of riders in a ring at once) I got a 5th. The horse I rode was named Don and he is very grouchy with the girth and just in general. So on the first I think I might be wrong but he tried to kick us and he got in real big trouble. He usually doesn't kick( at least what I think because he is a fairly new horse to me) but he does try to bite a lot so we got adjustable cross ties so he couldn't bite so since he couldn't bite he tried to kick but just when I was putting on the girth or when I was brushing his barrel. So I had not a bad weekend(at least on flat)! The picture I put on here isn't the best because he about refused but at last minute I got him.

Thanks! Actually he isn't mine( I wish he was) I just rode him previous in lessons a lot since he is quite new to me and I was planning to show on a horse named Beau but he got colic a few days before the show so I couldn't bring him. Beau is 26 though. Luckly I had Don and I had actually been to a show on him before that. I think about 3 weeks before. Actually at that show he bucked me off the first day of course right in front of the judge and he bit my trainers head and she could have got stiches but she decided to let it bleed out. I just have to comment this but Beau show name is Mr. Beaujangles! Mybe when I get a photo on my computer of Beau I can put up a picture of him!Fth Stables

Please tell me someone has jumped something more "mickey mouse" if I'm being polite than a half-rotted pumpkin on top of some buckets....

Not that I was actually able to ride a jump today because I forgot my helmet. Wanting to be safe I decided jumping with Lexi would be safer.... So instead I tripped on my own two feet and sprained my knee.... Totally safer. Thankfully Lexi LOVES jumping so I stayed in one spot and lunged her over it, but the she decided that this was a BLAST and she had so much energy that she started bucking and took off across the arena, and woulda made her thoroughbred mommy proud. But in the meantime I'm worried she's going to hurt herself because she still has a lunge line on as I'm hobbling after her.... lol. (Normally if I mess up lunging and drop her she just stands there. And normally she lunges so quietly that I could hold on with one pinky. ) But anyhoo Lexi had a BLAST and that was a good break after calc final and before bio final today.
Please PM me with any good bio videos.

My Mom jumped a little bit as well! Okay once... But still Lexi was happy to oblige.

On a different phone is a video of me jumping my Mom's horse. He was doing SO good, but then last time I rode we went a little bit too high too fast and it went BEAUTIFULLY the first time, and then he got scared and refused. We did eventually get him over it. Then I had to focus on school for over a week. And Mom wouldn't come ride him. So today he was back to jumping it weirdly as some green horses do. And even refused a cross rail once, but then not another issue.

Those jumps look so good, HUSG! I haven't ever jumped much - I think the last time I did I was out trail riding bareback and a 3ft tree had fallen across the trail. I did manage to stay on, I just ended up holding on sideways. Safety was definitely not prioritized there :P
I spent about an hour yesterday dragging logs out of the woods to make some homemade cavaletti in the pasture. I got in some nice pole work and hill work with my gelding, who is 20 now. He's in pretty good shape at his age and I like to find new ways to keep him exercised. I don't have access to an indoor though, so I'll have to figure out a way to keep him moving once the snow gets too high to ride out.ID 43830

Thank you! Last couple lessons went kinda eh, and I was starting to get discouraged. I couldn't see a distance to save my life so Lexi had to repeatedly save it. But then I had to focus on school for a few weeks. But then I got bored not jumping. So I set up some jumps at home, and all of a sudden striding clicked again. And my trainer has me in a light seat the ENTIRE ride which I just don't have the shape for if lessons are a later priority than school only going once a week. But at home she wasn't there to see that. This trainer is WAY less stressful than my old trainer, but being on my own is even less stressful and I think the break let my subconscious work it on. Then practicing on my own finally let me settle some things out on my own. And sometimes you just have to learn things for yourself. Lexi is one of the most careful jumpers I know. All summer and she knocked down 3 rails like total. Then this week she knocked down a bunch. At first I was blaming it on her laziness, but then I finally figured out I wasn't holding her in a good frame. And once I figured that out I went higher and higher and it was fabulous. Although Joker refusing on me hurt my confidence a little bit. But I guess I'm going back to the trainers on Monday. I'm going camping over Thanksgiving and the following weekend, but my trainer is going to go to an IEA show and is paying me to use Lexi, so she wants to school Lexi over some jumps. And I'm going to ride one of her other horses, and one of her students is going to ride Lexi. I'm a smidge concerned because paint cues are already different than hunter jumper cues. And then when I was alone at school I was like this is MY horse I can do the cues I want. So it's always funny to see other people ride Lexi. She always does what they say, but sometimes they don't know what their saying. But once I tell someone what her cue is then she of course immediately does it. But how would a random hunter jumper kid know paint cues or even worse yet the random cue I have for my horse? I can give you guys some funny examples lol.
Wow! 3feet! That is amazing. The only time I jumped that high was in Ireland and the horse had a soft jump and I landed on her neck.
Yes please Cissy! As many as you have the patience to post! I can also share the ones of me jumping Mom's horse but it was really embarrassing. Looked like it was the first time he had ever jumped and it wasn't.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

Thoroughbred stallion that I get to ride over break. But I wouldn't call him "off" the track yet as his owner might send him back :(
https://photos.app.goo.gl/6frqmVsSXLWqkX417
The owner is thinking about letting me train and compete with him over fences. But I don't know how I'll ever get him to not have girls on his brain in the warm up pen..... But with no other horses in sight he is literally probably one of the sweetest horses I know. Fantastic brain and nothing makes him more happy than being told he's a good boyBreeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

I think you mom did great! I rode today because I had a lease and if you lease and my trainer is there you can jump but if she isn't there you can't but I can still do some poles. Today she was there but she was really busy so she didn't have time to do watch me jump and when she is there and I jump she gives me kinda a mini lesson, about 5 mins. My mom likes to come watch when I ride so she usually likes to take some vids of me when I ride but she couldn't today because there was some people in the same arena I was in riding.Fth Stables

Yesterday he was back to being brave over fences and wanting to jump. I feel safer trotting him up, but instead of stopping like he had been he loped off in enthusiasm.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

The horse Don I ride throws his head after jumps a lot and before them you have to be perfect to make him go over them. I saw that cross rail he really jumped over. :) I have a story so once I was riding this mare named Twinkle and we will trotting over a simple little cross rail oxer. So she jumped over it like it was a 3.6 jump and the thing is she trotted it and it was just a cross rail oxer! :)) Now we say sometimes "you did a Twinkle"! I put a picture on here of her later doing that jump. :)Fth Stables

Thankfully Joker was WAY better today. 3 rides ago? 4 rides ago? I jumped him too high too fast. I think he got scared. So the two rides after that he refused a lot. Then today he was enthusiastic with ears pricked intently on the jump. I guess he's really the one I need to start taking lessons with not my mare, but A he doesn't really haul well, and B the jumping trainer is far away, and C the jumping trainer has been supposed to be coming out to see us for 2 weeks now and she hasn't. Which I have a three horse trailer maybe I could start hauling him with my mare but he's REALLY really bad to haul, and I die halfway into a lesson, so imagine me trying to take two lessons? So I don't know what to do. But he's not quite what Mom and I were hoping for so we're thinking of putting 30-60 days over fences with him and trying to sell him.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
