Blue eyes
-
What causes blue eyes? Is it just random or is it influenced by a certain gene? I got a blue-eyed horse through one of my pasture breedings and was wondering if it was related to genetics or just a random generated image.
-
Homozygous cream always produces blue eyes. All of the splash genes and frame give a chance of blue eyes but whether a horse with one of those genes gets blue or brown is randomly determined by the image generator.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses. Liver chestnut, DP mushroom, and rose gray riding horses. Dun cobs with all the patterns. Watercolor, Wrong Warp and ice on mixed body types.
Stable ID 88 -
Similar, but related question, what, if anything, causes the different shades of blue? Luck? Some horses have really dark blue eyes, and i love that, but i don t like the light ones as much.ID# 30479

So if the image is reset, they may or may not have blue eyes again if they are the splash/frame genes?
