How do eggs work?
  • This is my first time being a premium account and I want to try to save some eggs from favorite mares.
Can I not pull eggs from mares that are in a pasture?
If I breed them this season does that mean I can't pull any eggs this season?
Or if I pull eggs will I still be able to breed if I don't mass flush?
Any help or advice would be appreciated!

  • 1. Mares in the pasture cannot have eggs pulled.
    2. Mares that are bred cannot have eggs pulled, or be mass flushed.
    3. If you pull eggs you can still breed the mare. However you won’t be able to pull any more eggs once you breed her.

I try to pull eggs every 5 days then flush the mare at the end of the season, that gives me the most eggs. Since they can’t wait in a pasture to build up a pasture bonus, while I pull eggs I personally see no benefit of breeding the mare herself. A surrogate mare is more practical.

  • Darn. I was being greedy. I wanted to pull eggs and still keep the pasture bonus for breeding to a different stud this season.

  • I think Ammit changed the egg/embryo breeding to the equivalent of 15 day pasture bonus. But someone else would have to clarify, I didn’t pay attention at the time. Eggs are really nice because you can use multiple stallions in one year (as long as you can pull straws from them).
  • You're right, BlaxkDiamond. Ammit recently announced that lab bred mares would be given the equivalent of 15 days of pasture bonus. This is something quite new, so I don't have a foal count report on this new feature.

  • I should also add that if you pull an egg from a mare one day you have to wait 5 full days, counting that day, in the game and pull the next one on day 6. If you choose to breed the mare after pulling eggs, you don't have to wait. If you flush the mare, you have to wait until the next breeding season to breed her live cover or pull more eggs again.

  • My 2 cents: If you MASS flush eggs the mare will not be available again until the next breeding season.
