How does watercolor work?
-
Ive been considering buying a license for watercolor for a while, and its finally available again when i can afford one, but Im not sure how it works. Do the colors that come out of it stay based on the base color of the horses or is it random? Do pink horses and blue horses make purple horses? If i dont like a color, can i reroll it, if it is random? ive been looking around trying to figure it out, but i havent been able to find much info about it.ID# 30479

The color that it causes is completely random. If you want a different color, all you do is reroll the horse.

Watercolor was formulated to work ideally with bay coloring, where you can get two tone horses. DP has little to no effect on the depth of your watercolor tones, but S+ will make the color richer. It’s a fun gene to have! If you decide to make the leap I hope you enjoy all your rainbow ponies!

Thanks for the information! This definitely hasnt dissuaded me from wanting to get it and Im looking forward to what i can make!ID# 30479

Most black horses with watercolor turn out a shade of blue/purple/turquoise/dark green, or one weird shade of pink. Chestnuts wind up more on the red/orange/yellow/bright pink, with lime green coming up too. Bays are usually two tone, and the darker a horses coat is, the brighter they'll be. I'm probably not saying that right lol. But a chestnut horse with hom sooty will be a more bright shade of let's say, orange, than one with no sooty. That's what I've seen anyhow. Sooty plus does awesome things with bay and watercolor. Really watercolor goes with everything lol, there is no wrong answer when pairing things with it.

Watercolor was not formulated specifically for bay. It was made for all color. DP DOES create a richer and darker deeper color, and S+ adds texture but does not make things rich.Need to contact me? Watercolor is great and you get crazy colors/patterns pairing it with nexus and the other fantasy colors. :)Breeding brown/liver/black with white spotting drafts. If you ever fancy straws PM me. PM me if you need help with GE.
