I was beyond excited to have my first 4th gen star Colt pop up when doing testing, especially cause this dude is from my even bred fantasy line, which at least, I know now, is pointing in the right direction. His mom I knew already was just a plain Jane mare I kept cause she papered well and tested Superior to her dam. I was hoping he at least caught leaves from his sire. Here's the guy in question.

His mama has no other babies, so I can't merge him. Missed all the good stuff, no DP, managed to miss out on any bay genes as well, I'm just not a fan of grullo. Not even sure what I'ma do with him.

On another high note, my 3rd 4th gen gold filly was in the barn with him, and she caught alll the goodies.

Mom has no other babies now but if she has one from the same sire next season I believe you could then merge them

That filly is stunning!

I'd flush the mare next year and repeat the cross. Surely you'd get a foal that catches all the goodies and is high quality eventually. Or one that's at least got the leaves and quality, then gmt the rest.
Alternatively, you could take a fancy foal even with poor quality and merge with the star boy then gmt the fancy one to be 100% inheritance. It'd be expensive though.

Hes worth it to let him sit a couple seasons in the barn and hope for a colored up sibling to merge him with.
Haltanny, my premium is up in a few days and it'll be back to basic for me, so I won't be able to flush her, but that's a good idea for future hopefuls when I can get back on premium. Just got a new truck so we're budgeting hard til we get all the bills settled out.

That is definitely a thought, not sure why I didn't think of it! Lol it'd be cheaper to swap the filly that caught all the goodies to a stud and swap the stud to a filly and add what I can lol.
