Question about Blurb from Newsletter
-
As I was reading the newsletter the other day, I came across something and I’m not sure exactly what it means.
“Breeding and showing ability will now fall in similar ranges so that foundations have training to breeding scores that are more like lined horses.”
Does this just mean that foundations that pass BA/SBA won’t have those dismal PT scores? Or something else entirely?Thanked by 1Ellesmere022 -
Here’s what someone else said on a different server:
“The way it reads, I’d assume that it affects new foundies that are created and that the PT and breeding scores won’t be as wild or different from one another.”
Hope this helps! -
I wondered about that part, too. I didn't know they were ever different, or how they are/were, or what might need changed to make them the same. :\">~*~ Justa ~*~

Yes, I was thinking this too. There has also been a mention about a change in the way snowflake is inherited. Has anyone drawn any light on that one?ID - 47350 (Most Licences) Breeding heavy. Carry it Forward Project - Snf, Kp, Dp, Df, Sa and Sb2. Welsh Dreams - Full of fantasies

I guess that would make the most sense with it affecting the PT/breeding scores to make them more similar to each other on foundation horses. I guess I always forget that the range and you can only really rely on the herd helpers (perfect foundation, ExPer/ExPro) to have any consistency with their scores.
@Ellesmere022 - I think it is that varnish and snowflake are now separate genes.ID: 40723 -

I only said that snowflake now shows on the gene test that is all. It still inherits exactly the same as before.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.

It can express a bit differently now which may be the confusion point.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
