Celebration of Life Straw Giveaway
  • I lost my grandmother today, after a long and rough road. After a series of strokes 7 years ago, she was left unable to communicate and care for herself and needed 24 hour in-home care. Over the years we have done all we could to keep her comfortable and included in family events. Six months ago, her doctors told us he didn’t think she had long left, her congestive heart failure was taking its toll on her body and she was gradually weakening. As awful as it may sound, we all were relieved, because she had barely been living for years and we knew she was tired. Finally, today she went to be with my grandfather, and I know she is happier and in a better place now.

So in memory of my grandmother, I would like to give 2 free straws to each player (must have at least a basic upgrade). If you are a player that does not have an upgrade, please message me to arrange 2 live covers next season. Please double check you have the proper licenses for closed genes. This will close at the beginning of next breeding season.

  • No straws needed, just here to give a big hug and say I'm here for you. Lots of love, and if you need a shoulder or just want to remember for a bit, I'm here. xxx
  • Fallen I Recently lost my grandmother, she too was tired. However her body started shutting down I spent everyday with her telling her stories and singing to her until she took her last breath. It's rough but I now know she is in a better place. You should always celebrate someones death for they have lived a great life.

May I please grab 2 straws from he will make a great progress to my new endover image

  • I’m sorry for your loss, Hidden. I’m glad you were able to spend a lot of time with your grandmother. Unfortunately I live 10 hours away so I was only able to see her 6 times in the last year, but I’m eternally grateful for those 6 visits.
  • Thank you MCzigans, I appreciate that. This community is wonderful and supportive, and it makes us unique that we can all come together for each other.

All straws have been sent :)
  • @FallenShadows714 So much sympathy for you. I was my mother's caregiver near the end when she was in a similar state due to advanced alzheimers, and I completely understand being glad she is set free. My mother got her wings three years ago this last New Year's Eve.

  • @Justa Thank you, and condolences on your loss as well. I feel awful for my dad, he was the one who was there daily working with the caregivers and at all the doctors appointments, picking up medications and groceries. My aunts were...well let’s just say there is a reason they weren’t named POA.

  • @FallenShadows714 I'm so sorry for your loss and also glad that she is now at peace. :( My family has walked through long term care as well with my older sister. My mom and dad's hearts are beating again but it's present in my mind now that it will be 8 years next week. Please don't think it macabre that I thank you and your grandmother for reminding me to be very present for my parents over the next few days. :(

I love your boy Chocolate Chrome! Could I have two straws from him please?
