    What gives this girl her dusty appearance? I’m absolutely heartbroken she didn’t pass BA. Tall, gorgeous colour, spots, and blue eyes.

    The Brown (At) and lack of sty is my guess but I am not too versed on these genes.

    She is very cute. The paler than black mane and tail come from the combination of cream and appaloosa. I agree with BlackWyld that the body color is the result of the aAt brown with no sooty. The pangare (P) also contributes to the lighter color on the belly.
    Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses. Liver chestnut, DP mushroom, and rose gray riding horses. Dun cobs with all the patterns. Watercolor, Wrong Warp and ice on mixed body types.

    Appy, cream, brown, no sooty, and pangare (and splash for them blue eyes) - not impossible, but certainly a bit of work! That sounds like it could be the start of a fun new breeding project!

    Yep, that would be appaloosa bronzing! Appaloosa is both a pattern gene and a dilution gene. It "bronzes" or reddens the base color. The less pigmented the base color is, the more bronzing there is. I personally find it much easier to see on black, bay, and brown-based colors.
