This is getting frustrating and a little depressing!
-
This year has been crappy for my health apparently. I found out I have graves disease while pregnant with the girls and came out of remission about a month after they were born, so February. Yesterday I found out I have all the antibody markers for graves and Hashimoto's. On top of that I'm anemic via b12. I possibly have pernicious anemia, which my grandmother has and is hereditary. Now I need to see a hematologist. So that's 3 autoimmune diseases and we dont know which one is causing my symptoms. And the symptoms are getting pretty bad even though my thyroid seems to be leveling off. I also have bursitis in my shoulder. I'm worried about my ability to care for the babies :((

I'm sorry Amgr1992. :( I'm managing Hashimotos right now. I had a pile of info reviewed because my primary handled order of operations for testing poorly so I had to figure some things out myself. I haven't kept much of it since I found an endocrinologist that was more organized and better at explaining things. I did understand Hashimotos and Chronic Hypothyroidism to be a natural progression/result of Graves. Thyroid just tired of tearing itself up and being torn up.
Did also just find an NCBI abstract that suggested Graves, B12 anemia, and pernicious anemia were linked. It's a little weird that you're the 3rd person I've met/know in the last 3 months that has B12 anemia though. Do you filter your water for metals and contaminants? -
I drink bottled water so we dont filter! I cant stand the taste of our tap water! I actually did find the same thing earlier about it all being connected too! I was managing the Graves just fine now it looks like I'm going into Hashimoto's. I've been anemic since I was a child but never knew why, I guess I've just accepted feeling like crap and having no energy but I'm tired of it. And to top it all off i just injured my hand slamming it into the metal thing that the door latches into trying to get to the babies from the bathroom X_X I now cant feel my right hand :(( but I don't think anything is broken thankfully

As Shakespeare's Claudius in Hamlet commented: "When sorrows come, they come not single spies but in battalions."
You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your doctors can find something to help you, and that your right hand soon recovers from its collision with the door hardware.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I hope it will! I have to get better for my babies! B12 deficient is easy to manage you just get injections but the other two mean I need to have regular endo appointments!
-
I still can't imagine going threw all of that :( stay strong! :) Also, I've read that you can help keep Graves & Hashimoto's at bay with supplements, exercise, and a healthy diet :) my mom is a natural health nut and likes to research the web when it comes to issues like this.
