Happy Winter Folk Festival everyone.

We have two new genes premiering this week.

Ice16

Ice 16 is the newest of our holiday line of ice genes. This one has soft frost feathers over the whole body. It requires one copy to show and is a closed gene (meaning it can not be shared).

Kit Promoter 2

Back when I was first making KP (our very first dynamic gene) this is what I really wanted it to look like but at the time I did not have the know-how with the generator to make it work. KP2 combines all that I have learned into what I feel is a really spectacular gene, and since this is a hidden gene and highly realistic in appearance it will be open and available to share.

KP2 requires a KIT mutation to activate. Once active it will interact with all white markings (except roan and appaloosa). Like with phantom genes, no white markings means no effect. While KIT is the activator, splash and frame markings will get the KP2 treatment as well. It will also interact with KP markings (if the horse has two KIT mutations). Just to confirm, unlike the original KP, KP2 does not have to be homozygous to show as long as there is an appropriate kit gene to activate it?

So I can have a horse that is het KP2 and het KitM and it will show?

I am super excited about this gene. It looks absolutely stunning and I can't wait to incorporate it into my breeding plans!!! :x

So does KP2 affect entry into the KP Breeders Club? I’m trying to decide whether to add it to my established KP line on my brand new shiny stallion or whether it needs to be added somewhere else.

So KP2 does not interact with roan, correct? But if a horse is homozygous roan and KP/KP2, will the KP2 show? Will the KP show?

Does KP2 not interact with tobiano or sabino? Or does it only react when on the dams side? Doni need regular KP to get it to show? I see leaves under his black coat that I figure is a bug and have seen them since before I added KP2! :))

It is showing. It is making the edges of the patterns "feathery" :)

And @InThe Stars92, the leaf outlines in the dark color are supposed to be there. Ammit stated that when it first came out. :)

Is this what the Ghosts of the Advent have been hiding? I don't remember seeing a definitive answer with those. Is KP2 also a part of the Paradise Play RS?

@RoseFlute No, Past is het GP, Present is het KP and Future is hom snowflake :) KP2 is not part of any HH (not that I know of anyway). I have added KP to a PP, and it did not have any. They look that was because of the frame.

Is KP2 safe to combine with frame? I am sorry if this has already been asked, I have been having computer problems and thought I might have missed it

@Beadingterri I would assume it would be no safer nor no more unsafe to combine with Frame than normal KP is...it is the white factor and Kit genes combined with the Frame that will make the combination safe/lethal. That may not be true though, we will need the game goddess to weigh in definitively.
