Just like in the headline, what happens when a horse dies? Does its points are not counting towards DP anymore? I'm asking because I want to know if it's better to keep old horses or auction them just before they loose their high value :/

No, the point do not count toward you daily income when a horse dies. It's only horses that you own.

As far as whether or not it is better to keep your older horses, it's mostly a gamble to see if they will survive another year after age 17. I think each horse over age 17 has a 1 in 5 chance of death each monthly rollover.

I usually go through my older horses every year and sort them by "Points This Year." If they have less than 1000 points or have earned less than 10-15 points in the month, I auction them. But, if they are good earners and have 1000+ points, I'm willing to gamble and see if they survive rollover.

What does it mean by daily payout, is that the amount that the horse makes per day?

Each week 75% of your current total points held is deposited into your account spread over the week as a showing bonus.

(Total points) x 0.75 = (weekly show bonus) / 7 = (daily show payout)

When you sell a horse or auction it off or it passes away then you are no longer holding those points so they no longer count.
