Fish-o needs a name-o. He's got three friends in his tank; two female bettas named Dorothy and Blanche (yes, golden girls; because they get along, but have their moments, and usually prefer singling out others), and a Bala Shark named Steve (aka: Sharky). There's also other smaller tanks with other fishies. One has a Danio in it named Dan. One has a male betta named Popcorn. The other has a divider with two male bettas named Bud and Buddy.

This fella (I'm saying fella) is a bit nuts. He cleans the tank, actually that's often what I see, but also quite often he's swimming around so crazily, you'd swear he's on some drugs or something. As my dad would say, "Where'd he find the crack?"

If I pick your name, or part of it (i.e, you say Donner, I choose Don), you'll get something. That is to be determined whenever I end this.

*Edit: He is a plecostemous.

Hmmm how about Roca, it means stone in Spanish. Or Zumbo, a shortened version of Whiz in Spanish.

My daughter named hers Hoover because he was a cleaner fish. We loved Hoover.

I had a golden plecostemous named Cranky Bob. He would 'pounce' at my cat and startle him!

In the same vein; There is a fish store down the street from my house. This is one of their windows. Do you know what that lighted 'sign' in the window is?!?

I had one named George. He lived 15+ years and was 20 inches long when he passed. Started out only 2 or 3 inches long.

Sharky (Steve) died today. I noticed last night he wasn't looking right, and this morning he was barely swimming and was sitting vertically. I came home from work from putting him in a smaller tank to be alone, and he wasn't with us. So, it's a sad day for me. He was my favorite fishy. :((

:( @SpryOfJune are the other fish ok? Did they all come together or was he new fresh out of quarantine? That he's an algae eater also has me worried your substrates/tank walls have some kind of contamination- bad algae, mold, cleaner/metal contamination etc.
I have to yell at the folks I watch a bird for because they'll let their tanks overgrow with algae and they've had mold contamination in the past. They're still losing fish in the same containers I found the mold in even after decon.

@Looper, the two female bettas and the algae eater are quite fine. The shark had I don't know what wrong. I'd had him for six months or more. And noticed the day before I cleaned the tank (it was cleaned Sunday) he didn't look well. As I've said, imagine a swollen lil fishy. Sunday, he didn't look that way, but still didn't look quite right. So after I cleaned the tank, I placed him (the bala shark) in a smaller tank (which did have a heater and filter), and came home from work several hours later and he had passed. So far, everyone else seems fine. Sl I'm pretty confused here. I don't know if it was the tank not being perfectly clean, or what (it eally wasn't that bad). He's been in it when it wss worse, so I doubt that was it, but I don't know. Initially, the shark looked fine until Saturday night, and was gone before Sunday night.
