Can we applaud this boy? I think he's earned it.
  • I was in a hurry creating champagnes during appy hour the lone Friday I was off work during October. I was hoping mostly for Homozygous PATN1, but was also wishing to get a classic Chanmpagne. This fella came up homozygous PATN1 from a homozygous champagne herd helper (that's a big plus to me, since I'm breeding champagne appys), and to my luck and surpirse, he ended up classic champagne, as well! Later on in the month, after breeding him to around 10 mares, I noticed something extra special, but neglected to really realize what it meant. After about 20 mares, I realized what it meant... he doesn't seem like anything super special.... I mean... he's a C papered foundation, a PT of 7.10, and inconsistent. But now he may stake claim to this in his records:
"Champion Top Producing Stallion Year 76 Era 6 Breeders Club."!

I think he'd appreciate some extra carrots or pets for that effort he obviously put out.

    Good for him! :D
  • @Looper, most were left in pasture and got deleted because they didn't meet my requirements. But it mostly was due to being short on time and barn space. I bred after the 15th, and so had less time to remove the foals to auction them, and even then, had nearly no space to put them in order to be able to auction a lot of them at once.

    Thanked by 1Looper
  • That's awesome! Although once those foals are deleted he will likely lose his top position, as they need at least 10 foals

Edit: Oh I just realised you meant he won last year, excellent! Those foals were there long enough obviously!!
  • @Kintara, yeah. Sorry. I did mean last season. Lol Most of his foals were bred between the 15th and the 27th. The mares had no major bonus; some didn't even have one...
I'm mostly wondering what would make him Top Producing? He seems like any other foundation stallion... C papered, no exceptional HH or RS, 7.10 PT, Inconsistent... I'm greatly confused.

  • Good mares is a big help, and fervent prayers to Arngee

  • That makes sense. Most of the mares were yellow RS (brindle breakouts, texas teas, etc)
